held at Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Don Boaso, Panjim on Aug 18,
and burial at Salesian Cemetery in Fatorda, Margao.
HE LOVED LIFE: Tony Noronha Brasileiro (24March1928-19Aug2016),
aged 88, of Sonarbhat, Saligao left this world on Friday
afternoon. Ex-St Stanislaus (Bandra), VJTI, Jamshedpur (1950s),
Kaiser Engineers (1960s), Cosipa in Cubatao (Brazil), Ciba's Santa
Monica Plant in Goa (1970s), West Coast Services, etc. Popular
emcee for weddings, live-wire and party organiser. Trained
children
in football even while in his early 80s. Died after bravely
battling multiple systems atrophy (MSA), a debilitating illness
which attacks the body while keeping the mind sharp till almost
the very end. The family is grateful to nurse Effie Viana and
helper Shobha for tending with care and patience in his last
months, and the hospital staff specially at JMJ Porvorim (and also
Dr Parul Dubey) for all the help rendered over the past two years.
Funeral leaves his Sonarbhat residence at 2:30 pm for Mae de Deus
Church, Saligao, Goa where Mass will be at 3 pm on Saturday Aug
20,
2016. But knowing Dad, he would have probably preferred if you
spent the hour celebrating life, or creating useful DIY with your
own hands. He incidentally built homes in Cubatao (Sao Paolo,
Brazil),
Phoenicia (Catskill Mountains, NY State), and at Sonarbhat,
Saligao, Goa (the last of which was done almost entirely by
himself with a few hastily trained agricultural workers and we
