Mervyn—
I believe she may be hearing the music. Something could vibrate in her
brain. Hope.
Cecilia and I will hold you both in our minds, and keep you both in our
prayers.
Remain in togetherness,

Many thanks Eugene and Venantius for your kind words and advice.
Yes, Venantius, I do play many of her favourite tunes and not long ago,
with the help of a cousin and good friend, recorded(on CD) many old
favourites in
which I sing(I've always loved singing and used to be an admirer of old

Mervyn—
Do play to her the music she like, or that you both did — connected with it
and with each other.
Perhaps you are already doing so.
Last year I did a seminar on Creative Aging here in NY and learnt a few
things there.
Much affection,

Sorry to learn about your wife. As we grow old, we fear the worst. Dementia
is most threatening. I too forget at times, and will scared that Demntia or
Alzeiimer's may be lurking behind it all. Take care, and may Goa give you
strength to face the situation.

Apologies folks!
For 'poem' in my earlier post, please read "story".
My mind must have been wandering at the time.
Sorry!

Anne's touching poem was just the sort of tonic I needed since
for the past few months now, I have become the Main Carer for my
dear wife (Elsie) of 66 years who was diagnosed with dementia some
months ago.
Heartbreaking to see a once active and highly creative lady reduced to
this
state.
