A heart-rending narrative of Mr and Mrs Chatterjee and their daughter Supriya
and Sujata.

In normal circumstances their experiences would have added to the terrible
statistics of the suffering and the dying in Covid shattered India, but the
Washington Post pulls them apart, away from the numbers and makes it a story of
courage, of love and finally of grief.

This is a middle class, one may say even affluent family and yet the telling
saddens us. Keep a thought for the poor and marginalized who suffer like they
did but without even the crutches of knowing they were able to help.

All our parents one day die and in our time we follow too, but no one should
die because others failed them.
