I would rather like this to be explicit rather than implicit. Having
access to all versions at the same time is something I won't miss, but
knowing the option is there is nice. Then another automatic mechanism
by recipes could be added without much interference anyway.
Also, wouldn't the non-Curre
JACK developers has recommended molnar's rt-preempt patch.
Things may have changed, but that was valid very recently.

More and more software is starting to require python 2.5, but there
are a few issues with upgrading.
Currently libraries are installed into /Libraries/Python2.4/site-packages -
allowing a system to have libraries for any python version installed
at the same
time. Libraries installed for Python2.4
I vouch for this as well. I am more and more recommending gobolinux
for audio apps since many audio packages are not maintained on other
distros.

I recently gave out that url for somebody who needed to install the
ISO kernel sources for compiling a network driver. So there's a valid
scenario why somebody wants the 2.6.17 package.
