I was trying to recompile Xine-Lib with ogg support since the binary package version doesn't have it? or is having compiler version conflicts with new ogg / vorbis libraries. Both ogg and vorbis libraries are found by pkg-config.
Tried NewVersion to upgrade Xine-Lib to 1.1.8 first, that didn't work (recipe succeeds, but no libraries installed), then tried for 1.1.7, which should work since it's the current version, and that didn't install any libraries either. Reinstalled binary package, the libraries without ogg working appeared again. Then I tried AALib recipe and that isn't getting libraries installed either (nowhere in programs and pkg-config doesn't see them anywhere). I'm wondering if using the latest Compile might be somehow affecting those recipes? Maybe the sandboxing?
