Finally I was able to add a marker on the top of the map. But for some
reason, now the map is not being displayed! I checked again the API key, and
everything seems to be fine. Ideas? Screenshot is above..

It's my first post here. I'm a developer from Brazil, and I've been
looking for some way to create overlays using the Google Maps Api,
which I believe is the best map software in the world. So, I've found
this answer very quickly. Now I have another problem to solve: here in
Brazil we don't ha
I ran into this same problem. The key field is one character too
short.
I even tried simply building it myself from the code below and can't
seem to get it to work. Did the api break with the new docs?

This map is really just the simple mapiconmaker example with Earth
added as an map type option.
When clicking on the Earth button I get this message in Firebug:
"Error calling method on NPObject!"
It doesn't work in Chrome or IE7
Request the API again with the same URL & Goog Acct. It will be the same for
the same combination of Google Account and URL.

I received this error too, starting recently, but only with zip codes
being passed in. a.replace sounds like a string manipulation function,
so I assumed the error was being caused by the API trying my zip as a
number. So I added String(location-variable) when calling
geo.getLocations and it solved

When i applied the number of markers processed between timeouts from 5
to 50 and window.setTimeOut value from 10 to 150ms, unfortunately the
waiting time in IE become more slow.Thus i needed to rollback the time
settings as before, 5 markers and 10ms.In Firefox also it is very fast
but indeed in IE

You can compare the speed in Chrome with the speed in IE to get an
idea of how fast it could be! But we still need a solution for IE
because it is the slowest and the most common browser.

In my new function I want to hook into the already rendered map and
then setCenter. (hope this makes sense)

I've noticed that some sites that have a google map have a dimmed
version of the map indicating that it's night time.
Is this in the google maps api? I'm using version 2 of the API and

You are setting the map zoom every time you add a marker, this can
only slow things down, not a lot but it all adds up!
