An update on the problem. I installed Grass 7.0svn provided by OSGeo4W and
it's working. Just version 6.4.3RC2 that is having trouble opening the Map
Display Window

Hi Martin,
I just installed 6.4.3svn-r54899-492 from OSGeo4W and I get the same error.
Grass GIS Map Display:1 will not open. I'm using the same location that
works fine with grass 7.
Thanks
Daniel

I cannot reproduce it with NC dataset, can you send me sample
You can download the location from
https://dl.dropbox.com/u/19035357/corr_Atm_utm23s.zip
It has one band of a landsat TM5 image. The zip file is 17Mb. Works fine in
Grass 7.0.svn
Grass 6.4.3RC2 and 6.4.3svn do not like it.
Cheers

How to create a PCA plot for two channels of a landsat image.?
i.pca outputs a eigen values, vectors and percentage importance
Could anybody explain how to plot it?
Does i.pca transforms/changes pixel values?
