It is not possible to use v.overlay on points AND areas. Check the manual:

Maybe you simply want to
At first glance, it looks like there is a problem with data import. If you
are able to see the imported bands clearly within GRASS, then there could
be problems with the signature collection process. Your current output
looks like the row numbers have been classified instead of the data values
Hi all,
I would like to change minimal required version of wxPython [1].
Currently we support (theoretically) version 2.8.1.1 (released 2007).
I suggest to change it to 2.8.10.1 (2009), for example 2.8.10.1 was
shipped with Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. The reason is obvious: wxGUI is limited

Nikos, Thanks for the reply.
Will v.patch merge the attribute table so all of the data will be combined
together in a new attribute table?
I am trying to merge 2 files, one with plot and address info (area) and the
second with property owner info (point). Both of these files contain
Please email to the group so that you get additional responses.
I do not think you need to group the rasterized training data with the
Landsat image group. Use i.group to define the group and the subgroup.
You need to also check how many pixels are within each training polygon. If

Well, if both (all) original tables are identically structured, you may use
the -e flag to copy over the attribute tables. In the case of points and
boundaries I guess

I think that this is a good idea for GRASS 7. We shouldn't really do it with
GRASS 6.
I like going to at least Python 2.5 also.

I was not able to get a working implementation of GRASS 7 for Mac. It also
seems to have broken my 6.4 installation; something about the python framework
throws errors now.
I am installing a VM of Ubuntu so I can try it out in a different environment.
I'll update if I get it working.

Hello,
Here I have Grass 6.4.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 but fail to launch nviz, even on

All I get is the very small window attached to this mail: there is not
even a 'visualize' menu...
The command line doesn't look

Indeed! Many thanks Anna. Feeling rather stupid now to have asked such a
question, but I prefer not to imagine how much time I would have spent
before having the idea to pull down the corner... thanks again for your
quick anwer!
