sorry, but what mean that "GRASS won’t open this mapset "? Are you
trying to open the mapset via GRASS plugin in QGIS or in GRASS itself?

I have a simple GRASS db created in GRASS 6. I have installed GRASS 7.
Initially I attempted to open this via QGIS and each vector map has a red X
indicating it has a GRASS 6 data structure.
I've read the wiki page for converting all GRASS 6 vector maps to GRASS 7

Not sure, but it looks like the comma's separating the layer names are
followed by a space?

to my GRASS by r.in.gdal and run r.bioclim such as in attached file
(screenshot).
