Hi GRASS community,
I downloaded land cover data from NLCD and reclassed values into 6
categories to generate a vegetation/landcover type raster (tree, shrub,
grass, non-veg, water, developed) that is composed of IDs (i.e. 11=tree,
5-shrub, etc...)
I also have a 90 meter patch raster.
Any given 90
Hello GRASS community,
I have two maps - where one map is slightly larger than the other - so that
the smaller map is missing data just around the edges based on the outline
of the larger map.
The smaller map is a map of floating point values, the larger map has a
single value of 1.
I would like
Hi -
This may seem a ridiculous question -
Can anyone tell me where I can obtain simple city boundary gis data?
I need city boundary gis data for cities in Santa Barbara County that I can
download and import into GRASS.
thank you,
Janet

Hi,
A GRASS data set was sent to me - however, I am unable to open any of the
mapsets in either grass6.4 or grass7 due to the following error message:

Hello GRASS community,
Does anyone have advice on duplicating an existing GRASS location with only
certain rasters maps?
For example, I have an existing GRASS location with a PERMANENT mapset that
contains 100 maps. I want to create a copy of this existing location (with
it's current projection)

Hi GRASS community,
When creating a stream network with r.watershed, I end up with some
isolated stream segments - particularly in larger watershed basins. Does
anyone know how to generate a stream network that is fully connected, or
how to correct this issue?
thank you,
Janet
Hello GRASS users,
i have reset my locations projection settings - for the purpose of updating
the zone from 0 to 11. however, after running g.setproj to make this
change, g.region -p still shows the zone set to 0. is there another
command that i should use, or a series of commands that need to
Hi all,
does anyone know how to generate a grid where the numbers are sequential?
i have used r.random.cells to create a grid, but grids are numbered, well,
randomly.
thanx,
Janet

Hi all,
i have a raster that i simply want to split in two along a line designated
by me, thereby creating two separate rasters. i have attempted to digitize
using v.digit, displaying the raster and drawing a line around the area of
interest. i go through the motions of what i think is closing
Hi all,
this seems silly, but i am a bit confused as haven't had this be an issue
before. i downloaded data from USGS NED (they have changed the process
since i last used). i requested data at 1 arc second (which is supposed to
be approx 30 meters)
i set up a new grass dataset, reading the
Hi all,
(please excuse if i don't use the correct terminology - sorry!)
i previously had a successful version of grass installed, but just
reinstalled grass 6.4 hoping i would get the python gui. not only did i
not get the python gui, but now i get an error when i attempt to run a
grass interface
Hi users,
i've read the help and other posts regarding v.to.rast, but i'm still not
piecing it all together and would appreciate some help.
i have a vector map of roads that i want to convert to a raster, so it is
lines. v.support - fine, but i can not figure out what i need to do with
v.digit
looking for. Which values
do you want to be assigned to you road-pixel in the raster format?
best regards,
Johannes

Hi users,

v.in.ascii. i have tried the examples on the v.in.ascii help page, and
looked through other posts, but still not getting it to do what i want. my

Hi all,
i want to simply divide my DEM into 30m grid cells - does anyone know how
to do this?
i have previously used r.clump on a 30m DEM to create unique spatial units.
however, since r.clump finds all areas of contiguous cell category values
and groups them to form physically discrete areas, i
Hi grass community,
sorry to have to ask - i've read through some of the help topics but either
i'm not finding the correct answers or not executing the commands correctly.
i want to display a raster in 3D. i.e. display landscape maps 'draped on
top' of the dem so i can show the terrain in 3D
Hi all,
i have 30m cell areas where i have a value for each cell representing a
particular landscape characteristic (i.e. biomass)
i want to find the total of those value (biomass) by 800m cells, i.e. what
the total biomass is by 800m cells rather than by each 30m cell.
does anyone know how to

HI,
thanx for any help. seems this should be a pretty straight forward thing to
do, but am not having any success.
i am trying to reproject a raster from lat/long to utm.
i created a new location with a utm projection, then tried to use r.proj to
reproject a raster from another location.
r.proj
to include the full path of your location ([/work/projects/Willamette])

Hello grass community,
I unfortunately had to re-install my mac os x operating system, then do a
new download of grass, installing grass6.3 (previously running grass6.2).
after the re-install, i put all my backed up data back on the machine.
however, when i launch the new grass6.3 on my newly
