results in new columns, in vector files, but can not find an easy way to do
also is very difficult to edit or delete an attribute not know if I'm doing

This is not an answer to your question but rather a question to the
list. Can v.db.update take as values a formula using data from other
collumns? Or would I need to use db.execute to do something like
new_column = col_A + col_B
