Running 7.5svn here. When ps.map is fed a *.psmap file and asked to
produce a .pdf output, attempts to open that file with xpdf and mupdf fail:
$ mupdf dubois-creek.pdf
error: cannot recognize version marker
warning: trying to repair broken xref
warning: repairing PDF document
error: invalid key in dict
error: invalid key in dict
error: invalid key in dict
error: no objects found
mupdf: error: cannot open document
$ xpdf dubois-creek.pdf
Syntax Warning: May not be a PDF file (continuing anyway)
Syntax Error: Couldn't read xref table
Syntax Warning: PDF file is damaged - attempting to reconstruct xref table...
^C
Specifying a postscript output from ps.map works and ps2pdf does its thing
just fine.
