Not sure if this will help, but you can change the Mac terminal shell back to bash quite easily. This explains the process . https://stackoverflow.com/questions/10341271/switching-from-zsh-to-bash-on-os-x-and-back-again You can make the change on a per use basis or reset the default shell

Tom, There is a limitation presently in the GRASS-X.X.app startup script, i.e. forcing the user into a bash session and resetting of PATH. I hope to fix this in future releases. However, that doesn't place us in a helpless situation. Assuming you start GRASS in Finder: (1) start GRASS
