Hi all,
I'm importing species distribution shapefiles into GRASS via QuantumGIS (using
the GRASS shell), but enclosed areas that are supposed to be holes are imported
as a 0_polygon. So, instead of the original ring polygon, GRASS imports gives
me a 0_polygon inside of a 1_polygon. How can I
Dear friends,
a few questions on some things I do not understand well about datum:
1) what is a datum tranformation parameter?
2) why there are 2 datum transformation paramenters for osgb36?
3) why does the system ask for a datum transformation parameter when I create
a location with EPSG code
Hmm, our sysadmin ran the ./configure and included the --with-cxx and
the new configure.in was identical to the old one (meaning either we
already used --with-cxx or the flag had no effect on the configure.in)
Along these lines, is there any way to tell easily what flags were used
to compile
For GRASS 6.3, you should use the TclTk interface. The wxPython
interface is for testing only. This issue is fixed in the 6.4 and 7
development versions.
You might be able to simply copy the wxpython code from 6.4 to 6.3 and
have much of this work if you wanted to try it.

You need to watch out for the following:
./configure --with-cxx ...

checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++ -g -Wall -Wl,--export-dynamic

Agustin,
I could reproduce the problem...:
GRASS 6.4.svn (latlong_tbe_climate):~ r.in.gdal npp.tif out=npp
ERROR: region for current mapset is invalid
line 9: e-w resol: 0
run g.region
# Now I reset the location which was still messed up from the previous

Could you run it in command line? Then you may be able to
copy the error.
Alternative: tell us how to replicate it in the Spearfish or North
Carolina sample data set...

Hi,
What variable controls the shell prompt for GRASS 6.4 (SVN)? I cannot
find it in the docs. When I need to work directly from the prompt and
deep inside a tree, it becomes very hard to read because it includes the
full path. Thanks in advance.
Cheers,
