There is a new addon in the repository: v.net.curvedarcs. https://grass.osgeo.org/grass72/manuals/addons/v.net.curvedarcs.html It is a frontend to v.net and v.segment that creates curved arcs between given start and end points, thus allowing to display flows (or relations) between points

Nikos: perhaps I was not clear: I ocnfirm actually that I can download data, for example inside a 100x100 pix. region. I wonder if anyone has scripted around to get larger "computational regions" more efficiently than just querying directly which would require a fast and solid network
