Hi Jitu,
a way would be to convert the lines to raster (v.to.rast) and calculate
the statistics (r.stats).
As every line has a unique id, the raster-lines will have.
Hope it helps,

Yes, this is quite tricky...
Have you seen the literature on eg.

Try the spearfish dataset to get an idea, how to begin.

can you change the top line of the shell script to be

then you can follow the exact expansion of the shell variables
from among the debug noise.

I think v.dissolve corrupted it.
I solved it by making a raster map and then a vector map again.
Thanks, Markus and Pablo,

Hi all,
is it possible in grass to calculate the center of gravity?
Given two raster maps:
1) map where areas are defined (can be vector map, too)
2) raster map with gravity values
I cannot find something like this in grass.
Any suggestion welcome,
Achim
Hopefully the following will clarify this issue further.

GRASS commands work in GRASS 7 including all display commands that
actually display something.
Scripting works in GRASS 7. It works considerably better than it did
in prior versions.
Hi all,
I have already read and tested how to integrate the GRASS modules on a
BASH script as Markus suggested.
I'm running GRASS 6.4RC5 version.
I should convert a shapefile given in the Italian projection system
(Gauss-Boaga) into a raster file (GeoTIFF format) at a given resolution.

I tested, the same command on an older version of GRASS and it worked

I also tried simpler commands with d.vect.thematic and didn't worked
with 6.4.0RC5. These commands worked well on 6.2.3.

Hello,
which command line and GUI options do I have to get the current mapset?
I am looking for a command that tells me the mapset selected when
eneting GRASS.
g.mapsets shows with its -p option all mapsets in the search path and
g.mapset shows all in open locations.
Could these two commands be
