Installing Xcode command line tools through Xcode worked in the standalone GRASS version! I can now get to work on finishing this manuscript! Thanks. Two things to keep in mind for those following after me. 1) The entire file path can't have spaces or g.extension fails, which meant having to

g.extension should work. The main key is that you need to install the Xcode command line tools. This can be done either from the Xcode app (free from app store), or by downloading the command line tools installer separately (from an Apple developer account). The old modbuild thing could
