There is nothing to show that the administration was asked to bend. It can very well repress entirely on its own. And, in fact, does it day in and day out.
(Similar was the response when Hu Jintao had visited.) Custodial tortures and encounter killings are just routine here. But this has offered us an excellent opportunity to hit back and make the administration really bend. We must seize the opportunity with both the hands.
