Re: [Gregorio-users] problem with installing

2016-09-23 Thread Br. Samuel Springuel
After looking into this I determined the problem. `build.sh`, as it
exists on the 4.1 branch, does not build the docs by default because we
were, at the time, assuming that it was being used with a distribution
tarball, not a git clone. When being used with a git clone, then you
need to issue the `make doc` command yourself before running
`install.sh` (you need to be in the doc folder when you issue this command).

This behavior changed on the 4.2 branch so that now `build.sh` will
build the docs if they are not present. I've gotten used to this new
behavior, which is why I mistakenly said that it should build the docs
for you.

If you still want to install 4.1.5 (which doesn't have a distribution
tarball) then after running `build.sh` enter the doc folder, build the
docs, return to the root folder, and then run `install.sh`.

If you're willing to wait for 4.2 (the releasing of which is on my to-do
list for this weekend), then you should be able to simply use `build.sh`
and `install.sh`.

system-setup.command is a bash script in the contrib folder of the gregorio
download. You should not need to install anything to run it.

Thank you for reaction!
Tex Live 2015 is installed and build.sh run without problems.

I downloaded and extracted this file:
https://github.com/gregorio-project/gregorio/archive/v4.1.5.tar.gz. There
are no pdf files in the doc directory...

Re: [Gregorio-users] problem with installing

2016-09-15 Thread Br. Samuel Springuel
You need a TeX installation to build the documentation, which,
incidentally, you also need to use Gregorio. Further, you need to run
build.sh before running install.sh and build.sh should tell you if it
has trouble building the documentation (and be more specific about what
the problem is).

What type of system are you attempting to install on, Linux or Mac?

For full installation instructions see here (Linux):
http://gregorio-project.github.io/installation-linux.html

or here (Mac):
http://gregorio-project.github.io/installation-mac.html

I also might suggest using the tar-ball instead of a git clone. The
tar-ball has the documentation pre-built for you, saving that step.

Hi Łukasz,

I think you don't see it in TexWorks... I use in the command I line:
Gregorio.exe filename.gabc to compile the *.gabc file I wrote in my text
editor. This results in a tex file. Than I use the main-lualatex as it is
described in the tutorial on the Gregorio website... I open the
main-lualatex in TexWorks.. That works... Hth, Joei.

2015-02-07 Thread Br. Samuel Springuel
A folder called development has been added to the downloads area of
the website. Inside you will find the most copy of the source code (in
the zip file) and a Windows installer which was compiled today from said
source code. Using this installer should setup TeXworks to make use of
the gregorio and greg-book helper scripts.

Note, this installer has only been tested under Windows XP (I don't have
access to more recent versions of the OS) and at least there will only
set up TeXworks for the administrator account which runs it. However,
since it places the helper scripts in a location which all users can
see, it is possible to manually configure TeXworks for other users by
following the instructions on the website:
