Do not automatically postprocess troff output in the usual manner.
This will cause the intermediate output to appear on stdout; see

It was great to read the interview with Werner (our Fearless Leader?).
What an interesting story! It is good to meet you, Werner.
Now all we need is a Groff Anthem to be sung at the next International Groff
Confernece ;)

will groff *ever* incorporate shrinkable vertical, and, much more
important, horizontal space? All other concerns aside, the only
quibble I've ever had with groff as a typesetting engine is that, as
Werner reminds us, groff's paragraph formatting algorithm isn't all
that sophisticated.
Have you ever seen such a song in 7/4 rhythm? With other words,
the melody is fine, but the text is `pants' (this is the British
word I get for the German `grottenschlecht' :-)

crept into mom during the 1.3 cycle. I've got them fixed (I hope),
and committed the fixes (version 1.3-e_3) to the repository and
posted a mom tarball on her homepage. If anyone's experienced
problems, I suggest upgrading.

We also have the slang word `grotty', with similar meaning, and
presumably from the same Germanic root; in a `groff' context, the
connotation is somewhat unfortunate :-)
You think you have a problem. I must be one of the few people named
after a groff program.
Hehe. It's not only you
