  [Impact]
  Some widgets such as the map view in gnome-maps 3.18.3 are off-center. (The 
upstream bug was originally about polari 3.19, an IRC app from GNOME.)

  [Test Case]
  1. Install gnome-maps 3.18.3-0ubuntu1 (as of today, in xenial-proposed)
  2. Open the maps app. Is there a blank area on one side of the map view?
  3. Install the updated gtk-3 packages
  4. Open the maps app. The map view should fill the map view space.

  [Regression Potential]
  The minimal fix has been shipped with GTK since 3.19.10. (Therefore, this bug 
is already fixed in yakkety-proposed.)

   * Installing clamav the user expects things start to run
   * Naturally the daemon can only run after the virus-database is updated 
(conditions in systemd service)
   * But the freshclam service to update the virus-db is not starting either 
 since the move to systemd (Regression to old behavior)

  [Test Case]

   * (enable proposed if needed)
   * apt-get install clamav-freshclam
   * systemctl status clamav-freshclam.service
   * this should show "active" (fixed) and not just "loaded" (broken)

  [Regression Potential]

   * The fix is fairly straightforward so there shouldn't be a lot. But it 
 affects postinst and while not changing, it has to move some code there 
 and might affect something in postinst I missed to think about.

   * It worked for adt in Y & X and for my manual tests in LXD containers 
 fine

   * This is (intentionally) only addressing the regression for now.
 Once fixed we think of splitting the part of auto-starting clamav-
 daemon later on once the DB is ready

  the change is in the file monitor code, just check the behaviour on external 
changes (replace the image, edit it, etc)

  libgtk-3-common depends on adwaita-icon-theme (>= ${gnome:Version}). For 
xenial, this is adwaita-icon-theme >= 3.18.

  This causes 2 problems. One is that we have to remember to upload a
  new version of adwaita-icon-theme before we upload a new version of
  GTK3. Otherwise, the new version of adwaita-icon-theme becomes
  unbuildable because adwaita-icon-theme depends on GTK3 to build but
  GTK3 is uninstallable because the dependency can't be satisfied yet.
  This can be worked around (it happened this week with 3.20 in yakkety)
  but it's not good.

  The other is that Lubuntu doesn't want to install adwaita-icon-theme
  but instead install lubuntu-icon-theme as a replacement by setting
  Provides: adwaita-icon-theme. According to Debian policy, that doesn't
  work if something has a versioned dependency on the provided package.

  The AppArmor regression tests are ran as part of the kernel SRU
  verification process. One of the tests, onexec.sh, contains a racy
  section that introduces intermittent failures. Such failures introduce
  doubt in the kernel SRU process and generate additional work to verify
  that the failures can be ignored.

  [Test Case]

  Since the fix is to the onexec.sh test itself, the best test case is
  to simply run the test. The QRT test-apparmor.py script runs this
  test, among many others, and should be used for verification.

  [Regression Potential]

  None. The fix is to the test and does not affect code that is user-
  facing.

  As reported here: https://github.com/pypa/pip/issues/3681

  $ apt install python3-pip python3-lxc
  $ pip freeze
  --crash with traceback--

  However, this happens in Xenial *not* in Yakkety.  I forgot to cherry
  pick the fix for this in the last 16.04 python-pip SRU, so this is the
  bug to track that.  Specifically, this cherry picks skip-bad-
  requirements.patch from Yakkety to Xenial.

  [Test Case]
  $ sudo apt install python3-pip python3-lxc
  $ pip3 freeze

  [Regression Potential]
  Highly unlikely.  This patch was blessed by upstream and has been in the 
Debian unstable and Yakkety series for quite a while, with no bugs reported.

Yes, it sounds like that is the initial trigger. So somewhere between
3.16 and 4.4 the kernel got better in declaring which disk drives could
be hot-plugged. And the AHCI and (likely) the fakeraid modes potentially
support to hot-plug disks (you could have externally accessible drive
bays). Sometimes the BIOS allows to change the hot-plug support but not
all). If you had that BIOS option that would be a work-around for you.

But probably dmraid should not care about a drive being removable. It
probably was meant to protect against probing USB sticks and/or cdroms.
I don't know for sure. As said on some of the threads you link I would
rather not think of this as a kernel bug. It rather supports the flag
more correctly.

So if something needs to change it probably is dmraid. Unfortunately
that change might have odd consequences in other cases. So I would like
to be careful there.

Bug description:
Kernel shipped with Ubuntu 16.04.1 cannot recognize fakeRaid created
from Ubuntu 14.04. I've tried three ways but none of them work.

1. Update 14.04.4 to 16.04.1
2. Fresh install 16.04.1
3. Update kernel to linux-images-4.4.0-34-generic only

The result is that the mapper was seperated into /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc
and cannot be rebuild with dmraid (said no raid disk) or mdadm (said
no superblock).

Something interesting is that when I reinstall Ubuntu 14.04.2 with my
old CD, during the installation Ubuntu is able to recognize
/dev/mapper/ But when I do a fresh install in Ubuntu 16.04 with
the CD, I get /dev/sdb and /dev/sdc

The motherboard I'm using is Gigabyte X79-UP4

The fakeRaid with Marvell chipset on my motherboard shows the following
information with fdisk in Ubuntu 16.04.1.
/dev/sda is where the system is installed. It is a normal hard drive.
/dev/sdb and /dev/sdc are using raid 1.

  Ubuntu phone development requires in session greeter functionality to perform 
suitably. This functionality does not exist in current versions of LightDM.

  [Test Case]
  1. Install a session that supports in session greeter
  2. Log into that session
  3. Activate greeter functionality

  Expected result:
  It works

  Observed result:
  The functionality is not implemented.

  [Regression Potential]
  Some risk of changing existing behaviour, reduced by regression tests still 
passing. Functionality is only enabled for sessions that opt-in to this 
behaviour so additional security risks is limited to new sessions.

  Original description:

  We talked about this in person in Prague.

  Ideally a greeter could run as in the user's session and act as a
  lockscreen for the user as well as a way to authenticate/log-in as
  other users.

  This would let us avoid running a whole other session for the greeter
  on the phone, which is memory intensive.

  It might be easiest for unity8 if that API was still just liblightdm,
  just running in a special mode.  But I'm not picky on how it's done.

  There may be security questions around this.  I asked Jamie and Tyler
  about it, I'll post any concerns from them.
