  mounts-of-zfs-datasets to allow multiple mounts

An attempt to mount an already mounted zfs dataset should return a new
mount referencing the existing super block, but instead it returns an
error. Operations such as bind mounts and unsharing mount namespaces
create new mounts for the sb, which can cause operations to fail which
involve unmounting and remounting the dataset. This fix from Seth

  Add linux-modules* packages to VersionedKernelPackages

Status in apt package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  == SRU Justification ==

Impact: The 4.15 hwe kernel includes some package shuffling, so the
  VersionedKernelPackages list in /etc/apt/apt.conf.d/01autoremove needs
to be updated to include linux-modules* packages.

Fix: Backport the conf file changes from bionic.

Test Case: Confirm that linux-modules* packages are autoremoved
according to the same rules used for linux-image* packages.

Regression Potential: Minimal. Probably the worst case is that some
packages that should be autoremoved are not, but since these changes
have been in use in bionic for a while now no regressions are
  expected.

  How Reproducible:

  Version
  pciutils-3.3.1-1.1ubuntu1.1

  2. Observe #lspci

  Additional Info:
  * Upstream master branch from pciutils works fine in this setup.

  * v3.4.0 also works fine in this setup.

  * v3.3.1 fails.

  * Going through code quickly, looks like one of the required patches is :

Bug description:

Impact: Prior to Linux 4.14 a number of firmware files were being
shipped with the kernel source. The duplicate files in linux-firmware
had been removed, but now they need to be restored for the 4.15 hwe
  kernel.

Fix: Restore the missing firmware files.

Test Case: Install the updated linux-firmware package and confirm the

Regression Potential: This only adds new firmware files and thus is

In order for web service to aggregate custom logs, simplestreams client
should identify itself via user-agent.

This is required by MAAS to properly identify itself when downloading
  images.

  [Test Case]
  1. Install version of simplestreams
  2. Try to download streams from a custom source
  3. Check apache2 logs like:

  192.168.122.1 - - [29/Nov/2016:21:55:03 -0500] "GET /old-
  images/streams/v1/index.json HTTP/1.1" 200 740 "-" "python-
  simplestreams/0.1"

  [Regression Potential]
None. This doesn't impact the ability for simplestreams to work. It just
ensures the client identifies itself.

  Won't Fix

Bug description:
  [Impact]

simplestreams can't sync images when keystone is configured to use v3,
keystone v2 is deprecated since mitaka[0] (the version shipped with
  xenial)

The OpenStack Keystone charm supports v3 only since Queens and
  later[1]

  [Test Case]

  * deploy a openstack environment with keystone v3 enabled
- get a copy of the bundle available at
http://paste.ubuntu.com/p/hkhsHKqt4h/ , this bundle deploys a minimal version
of xenial-mitaka.

  Expected result:

  - "glance image-list" lists trusty and xenial images
  - the file glance-simplestreams-sync/0:/var/log/glance-simplestreams-sync.log
contains details of the images pulled from cloud-images.u.c (example:
https://pastebin.ubuntu.com/p/RWG8QrkVDz/ )

  Actual result:

  - "glance image-list" is empty
  - the file glance-simplestreams-sync/0:/var/log/glance-simplestreams-sync.log
 contains the following stacktrace
  INFO * 04-09 22:04:06 [PID:14571] * root * Calling DryRun mirror to get

  ValueError: (tenant_id or tenant_name)

  [Regression Potential]

  * A possible regression will manifest itself figuring out if v2 or v3
should be used, after the connection is made there are no further
  changes introduced by this SRU

  [Other Info]

When trying to test my changes for bug 1686086, I was unable to auth
to keystone, which means glance image sync just doesn't work with
  a v3 keystone.

  Related bugs:
   * bug 1719879: swift client needs to use v1 auth prior to ocata
   * bug 1728982: openstack mirror with keystone v3 always imports new images
   * bug 1611987: glance-simplestreams-sync charm doesn't support keystone v3

  Signature verification is too slow

Bug description:
  [Impact]

  When running against http://cloud-

images.ubuntu.com/releases/streams/v1/com.ubuntu.cloud:released:download.sjson,
read_signed() in simplestreams/utils.py seems to take minutes (402
seconds in my instrumented timing) running 100% CPU. At the time of my
test, download.sjson is 451737 bytes in 1870 lines.

This makes a uvtool sync virtually unusable on Xenial.

  [Development Fix]

The culprit is the constant += of a string as it is read in. This is
inefficient in Python as each += results in a new string that has to
be allocated. Keeping the lines in a list and joining them at the end
reduces the time to 0.127 seconds.

  [Stable Fix]

No change cherry-pick of fix committed upstream.

  [Test Case]

On a machine with reasonable connectivity, run: uvt-simplestreams-
  libvirt sync release=xenial arch=amd64

Expected result: takes a few seconds with minimal CPU use.

Actual result: takes more than five minutes with CPU pegged at 100%.

Scott also has a more direct test case here:
  http://paste.ubuntu.com/16377613/

  [Original Notes]

Merge proposal to follow. I'm filing this bug to track a Xenial SRU.

== SRU Justification, Xenial, Artful, Bionic ==

When outside a lxd container with zfs storage, zfs list or zpool
status either returns or reports what's going on.

When inside a lxd container with zfs storage, zfs list or zpool status
appears to hang, no output for 10 seconds.

  == Fix ==

Inside a container we don't need the 10 seconds timeout, so check for
this scenario and set the timeout to default to 0 seconds.

  == Regression Potential ==

Minimal, this caters for a corner case inside a containerized
environment, the fix will not alter the behaviour for other cases.

strace reveals that without a /dev/zfs the tools wait for it to appear

Bug description:
  [Impact]

   * A recent Security pushed CVE containing Postgres upload modified the
output of a few commands (good for safety, bad for tests checking exact
     output).

   * We want to get the tests working and reliable again and for this
package that change seems rather easy to do, so lets do it.

  [Test Case]

   * Run the autopkgtests of skytools3 against current Xenial/Artful

   * You can just drop the file as the patch does and the tests will work
     again.

  [Regression Potential]

   * This is a Test-Only change and currently Tests are totally broken on
all arches. So the only regression potential I see is a silly mistake
we might have missed in our Patch, but it is rather small and I doubt
there is one affecting the packages function.

  [Other Info]

   * Short Term the mark the current version as badtest (This also helps to
not let too much uploads depend to unblock on each other)

   * Mid Term we want the tests to work, therefore this non-functional test
only Upload proposed here (If we don't do that we end up with no tests
 after a while).

  ---

Past security releases changed the output of postgres.
Due to that autopkgtests are broken currently.

  Example:

https://objectstorage.prodstack4-5.canonical.com/v1/AUTH_77e2ada1e7a84929a74ba3b87153c0ac
  /autopkgtest-
  artful/artful/amd64/s/skytools3/20180524_164925_7c562@/log.gz

This should be safe to adapt and due to the CVE push not gating on it in the
past is already a fact.
So lets mask the current version a badtest and work on the fix if there is
time.
