  wireguard contains an uninitialised netlink member which could lead to
  unreliable operation. wireguard-linux-compat is maintained to match
  the upstream version which is under security review and cleanup
  keeping in sync with the maintainers backport provides the highest
  reliability and security for wireguard users.

  Separately, the wireguard-linux-compat will need to go to -security;
  as this only produces an arch:all of the included source this is ok.

  [Test Case]

  Do a sanity test run using the -proposed packages and see if
  everything still works as expected.

  [Regression Potential]

  Low. This is the version in continuous and active use in the
  development release, it is also the version applied upstream.

  [Other Info]

  The upstream maintainer of this feature is only committed to support
  of the upstream version of the compatibility code that is contained in
  Ubuntu.

  Resync our backports of wireguard and wireguard-linux-compat in focal,
  eoan, and bionic.  Contains various compatibility fixes for older
  kernels.

  Note these will also want to go via the security PPA so they can be
  released to eoan-security. This is to ensure the previous update is
  available to -security only users.

  Currently the DKMS package fails to install in supported custom
  kernels that are based on 4.11 or 4.13. That includes the current 4.11
  hwe-edge and the upcoming 4.13 hwe-edge kernels and some of the custom
  and cloud kernels as well.

  [Test Case]

  Install the DKMS package with the 4.13 hwe-edge kernel from -proposed.
  The package installation should proceed without any errors.

  [Regression Potential]

  Although new patches were added, the regression risk is very low since
  the new changes are conditionally compiled based on the kernel
  version.

  Besides that the new package was tested with the following kernels in
  an amd64 environment:

  - linux-hwe 4.10

  - linux-hwe-edge 4.13 (from xenial-proposed)

  2. Start GNOME Software
  3. Install a snap (e.g. moon-buggy)

  Expected result:
  User is prompted for Ubuntu credentials and is able to install snap.

  Observed result:
  Works as expected (i.e. only looking for regressions).

  There is a risk of breaking existing use cases. This is reduced by the 
regression tests in the package and the newer versions of snapd-glib working in 
newer releases.

  libva1 Recommends va-driver-all
  va-driver-all Depends on i965-va-driver vdpau-va-driver (no mesa-va-drivers)

  This is fixed in version 1.7.0-2 in Debian and Yakkety.

   * Due to an issue with PyMSSQL 1.0.x and the version of FreeTDX in
  the repositories, PyMSSQL no longer returns any information from MSSQL
  database queries.  This means you cannot use fetchone() or fetchall()
  or similar methods to get data back from a database query.

   * Install python-pymssql to Ubuntu.
   
   * Inside a 'python' console on the Ubuntu server, use the following python 
code, replacing values accordingly for your MSSQL servers.  The "print" 
function will return 'None' in the current code base.  When fixed, you will get 
either one value, or a tuple, depending on the results (but you will NOT get 
'None'):

requested package might not do a prompt, but some dependency can.

  1. Install a .deb file that causes a debconf prompt 
(https://launchpad.net/~vorlon/+archive/ubuntu/debconf-tests contains a test 
package).
  $ gnome-software --local-filename=noisy-fake-driver_0.6_amd64.deb

  Expected result:
  Package is installed after a debconf prompt is shown.

  Observed result:
  Package fails to install, no prompt is shown.

  [Regression Potential]
  The solution was to provide a pipe when using aptd to allow the debconf 
prompt to be handled in the session. This could introduce new bugs and/or 
security issues.

  In cases where snapd 2.0.10 is used on a fresh install of Ubuntu, snapd will 
re-exec into the ubuntu-core/core snap, complete the core transition if 
necessary and then hit an issue where the core's configure hook fails to run.
  The reason for this failure is that configure hook is executed with the help 
of snap-confine but 2.0.10 did not have snap-confine yet (it was still 
ubuntu-core-launcher).

  As a workaround we now detect this case and merely warn (rather than
  fail) if a hook cannot be executed because snap-confine is not
  available.

   * Certain strongswan based vpn setups fail, especially those based on 
 network-manager-l2tp or neutron-vpn-netns-wrapper

   * The fix is opening up the apparmor profile slightly for charon and 
 stroke where paths are disconnected

  [Test Case]

   * valid VPN setup with network-manager-l2tp, then running "sudo ipsec
  status"

   or

   * valid neutron-vpn setup and then
  # mkdir /tmp/test
  # ip netns add testns
  # ip netns exec testns neutron-vpn-netns-wrapper --mount_paths 
"/var/run:/tmp/test" --cmd "ipsec,status"

In both cases the command fails as it can't reach charon log.

  [Regression Potential]

   * Since the profile for strongswan is opened up a bit (and not more 
 restricted) the regression potential for strongswan should be minimal.

   * Yet OTOH due to the change there is a slightly higher security risk 
 now. That said the case seems to be exactly what the feature was 
 designed for [1] and there are several other packages holding a similar 
 flag.

  even though multiple JVM's are installed here.

  The problem is that the /usr/bin/imagej script detects JAVA_HOME using

     JAVA_HOME=$(/usr/sbin/update-java-alternatives -l | grep openjdk |
  sort | tail -1 | cut -d' ' -f 3)

  which is empty as the output of update-java-alternatives -l is (note
  multiple spaces between columns):

  spaces before running cut, so the line should read:

  which then gives the correct output (/usr/lib/jvm/java-1.8.0-openjdk-

  Steps to reproduce:
  1. boot device with 4G sim card + DW5811e(EM7455) wwan card
  2. check nm-applet indicator then "Mobile Braodband" could be found in menu 
in normal cases.
  3. logout then login
  4. check nm-applet indicator then "Mobile Braodband" not shows in menu 
anymore.
  5. but still could connect to wwan by nmcli, so looks device and 
networkmanager work fine.

  [Test Case]

  After upgrading to 1.2.6, using the previous "Steps to reproduce"
  should not be able to reproduce the bug any more

  [Regression Potential]

  Potential of causing regression is minimal as upstream fixes aren't
  significant enough.

  The "content" interface refused to share the entire contents of one
  snap with another snap.

  This bug was caused by overzealous confinement of snap-confine itself
  that required for the "source" of the sharing to be a sub-directory of
  a snap. This restriction was lifted by editing the apparmor profile
  for snap-confine.

  The test case is ran automatically for each pull request and for each final

  Using the new "content" interface, and following the integration tests
  as an example, I have build two snaps in https://github.com/ubuntu
  /snappy-playpen/tree/geany one under "geany" the other under "geany-
  plugins" that work together to share the plugin code with the geany
  app.

  Both build, install, and connect just fine, but on trying to run
  /snap/bin/geany it immediately fails with the following message:

  cannot mount /snap/geany-plugins/x1 at /snap/geany/x1/plugins with
  options bind,ro. errmsg: Permission denied

  Checking dmesg after this shows the following:

  To test this, I made the following change to 
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.lib.snapd.snap-confine
  120,121c120,121
  < mount options=(rw bind) /snap/*/*/** -> /snap/*/*/**,
  < mount options=(ro bind) /snap/*/*/** -> /snap/*/*/**,
  ---
  > mount options=(rw bind) /snap/*/** -> /snap/*/*/**,

  This allowed the mount to happen and the application to run.

  Ubuntu Xenial Xerus currently ships with giflib 5.1.2-0.2, which is 
completely broken.
  It fails to read gif images in both libvips and imagemagick.

  Please update to 5.1.4-0.2, which is already published in Yakkety Yak.

  I have build the 5.1.4-0.2 package on Xenial and can confirm that it
  fixes both of the above mentioned problems.

  The upstream bug report is: https://sourceforge.net/p/giflib/bugs/94/

  And fix release is 5.1.4.

  Prepared 5.1.4, test built in the PPA ubuntu-toolchain-r/ppa, and
  test-build all rdeps in main (emacs24 libgdiplus libwebp openjdk-8
  tracker).

  Acceptance criteria:  Builds, and tests succeed on all architectures.

  some CDs are not listed in the desktop UIs

  * Test case
  under unity7 insert a video DVD in your drive, you should get prompted about 
it and have the device listed in the launcher/nautilus

  * Regression potential
  check that devices keep being correctly listed/mounted

  

  This bug affects both the X64 and X32 bit versions of the latest
  ubuntu 16.04 it does not occur with ubuntu 15.10 or earlier.  The
  problem is when a known good CD-R is placed in the drive, it is not
  mounted automatically.  However, if it is a bootable CD-R and you
  select the boot option of the BIOS it will function normally.

  Also, When a blank CD-R is inserted into the drive, it is mounted
  automatically, but disk creation software reports an erroneous amount
  of free space available.  Such as 247 MB or 512 MB when the disk is a
  700 MB disk.  However, if you proceed to record to the disk, even with
  an ISO image greater than the supposed available capacity, it records
  just fine.

  Other disk types such as DVD, audio, small cd-r work fine.  This only
  seems to affect the larger, full size cd-r's

Title:
  Crash on edit with external editor, results in corrupt image database
  entry

Bug description:
  Select "edit with external editor". The image opens in Gimp, but
  Shotwell crashes. Save the image, open shotwell (order doesn't
  matter).

  * The image thumbnail doesn't change proportions to the edited image,
  resulting in squashed image. And rotated images lose their rotation
  information on screen. The underlying edited image is unaffected. This
  happens only with images edited with the crash above; previous images
  are fine.

  * I am unable to permanently change associated data such as the
  grade/stars. Once I quite Shotwell those changes are gone. Again, this
  affects only images edited as above.

  * This happened with the update to Wily Werewolf (Shotwell
  0.22.0-Ubuntu5). Previous Shotwell version in Vivid was fine.

Bug description:
  mplayer2 is dead upstream, this package was synced from debian, but
  they have now removed it from unstable.

  It has been replaced by mplayer coming back into debian.

  Lubuntu seed this, but I think they should probably switch to mplayer.
