Just had a call from AJ at Yamaha USA. He told me that my motorcycle is consuming oil because the valve guides are worn. The bad new is that he says that is "normal" wear after 50,000 miles, and won't be covered under warranty !!! Is this normal ? Did this happen to any of you guys ? Any

I've used Golden Specto in my 93 since it was new. It now has 60K on it and doesn't use a drop of oil ! Maybe there is something to that synthetic oil argument ! Jason

I'll pick on your observation, Roberto. All else being equal, rider mass will NOT affect stopping distance. The more the mass to stop, the more the downforce this mass has and thus increases traction available to stop. This continues until you overpower the brakes or blow-up the tires.

Michel I do not think the GTS needs the catalyser to run. The fuel injection should compensate for the reduced backpressure if you take it off. But it may not be legal to run without it. (it wouldn't be for me although I could get away with it) The catalyser should be stainless steel, at
