An Appeal by Fr. Ronald Serrao, Parish Priest, Loliem

AN APPEAL TO OUR ESTEEMED BENEFACTORS: ST. SEBASTINE CHURCH
St. Sebastine Parish comes under the Archdiocese of Goa and Daman, is situated towards the south of Goa. Geographically it is the last parish of the diocese located along the Karnataka border. The boundaries of the parish go along the coastal areas of one side and the forest surrounds the other side.
Originally there was a chapel built in 1904 and the affiliated to Galgibaga Parish, St. Sebastine Church, Loliem became an independent Parish on November 26th, 1932.
Population of the area is around 8000 and the Catholic population is approximately around 3500. Catholic population has also increased over the years. The present structure is very old and in a very bad shape. It is an urgent need to put up a new structure for the parish church. Local people are generally poor but they are ready to co-operate in whatever way they can.
The estimated cost of the new structure is around Rs. 95 lakhs.
I strongly recommend this appeal for help and request the donors to kindly assist generously towards the new church construction.
