These were interesting, but I think what appeals to me more would be an 1861 paletot, which I have in "Civil War LAdies: Fashions and needle Arts of the Early 1860's" which is all from Petersen's MAgazines. I like the shape better although I will have to scale down the sleeves. Wish they had the patterns for it in there, even though I would have to mock it all up. I assume that a winter coat would be made of wool with a lining?
