Like Fran, I'd like to beg your indulgence and mention my book, Embellishments: Constructing Victorian Detail, available at www.schaefferarts.com. Focusing on the last quarter of the 19th c., it showcases dresses from the collection at the Univ. of NH with full color photos, detail photos, and how-to diagrams.
I'd also like to let everyone know that the exhibition, which closed March 2013, will be traveling to the Quilt Museum in Lowell Massachusetts January 22-March 22, 2014. There will be a white-glove curator's tour on Feb. 6, and a full day technique workshop on Feb. 8. Not all the items from the UNH showing will make the trip, but the 13 dresses that formed the bulk of the exhibition will be there, along with the close-up panels and touch samples.
