My mother-in-law gave me a pair for christmas two years ago. they cut really
well, they do give an line to follow, which can help. however, they are
heavier than my usual scissors, and that's pretty much why i don't use them
all the time.

Interesting... but I wonder how well they stay straight, when the hand moves
and the scissors jiggle, as they naturally are wont to do. And most lasers
offer a point, not a line to follow, at least on textiles (having just proven
that while I play with my kitten with the new laser pointer
My biggest problem is setting the fabric out straight to begin with,
especially with the fine stuff. It wiggles. Don't think a laser pointer
would help that :-(
