In costuming, they often use yak hair, in Cats! they actually teased out yarn and made it all fluffy. On Project Runway a couple of seasons ago Chris March used human hair instead of animal hair (which wasn't allowed. dunno why they got so grossed out, wigs are perfectly normal) - you could
