Does anyone have a copy of the Dictionary of American Regional English to check? Patty (from NE Ohio who grew up with an ironing mangle (and a wringer washer))
I have to put in my 2 cents - I never heard of an ironing kind of mangle until recently- my first association is that a mangle is the wringer part that goes over the washing tub. I grew up in western PA, perhaps that helps?
