Hi, guys can anyone shed any light on this, i am a total linux newby,
i am trying to install Fedora 17 under virtual box, i am selecting the
install to hard drive option, the installer appears to be installing
to the the hard drive, telling me its installing. But boots as a non
persistant live

an ass of myself for the fifth time 'install to hard drive' it
says.
OK, this is a total guess, but it sounds like you might have the CD image
still available to the VM, and it
are you booting from a .iso? if so, have you disconnected the .iso after
installation?
