Just a suggestion, would it be helpful to change the words "Web

Note, I removed Bruce email off the TO: list as I don't think he will
appreciate the email as per his previous email.

I've updated the signature along the lines you suggested James, thanks.

Thanks Tony!

Your efforts in sorting this out are much appreciated!

You're very welcome, it's been like old times!

It's been a long time since we had a meeting and even longer since I
saw you, but remind me I definitely owe you a pint next time we are in
the same place.

Sounds like a great idea. Perhaps societal desire for social contact
post-pandemic might even generate a LUG meeting of some kind!

Cheers,

It's now back up! Sorry it took so long.

I have upgraded the VPS that runs it across several versions of Debian
to get it back into support. In doing so, the website has broken and I
will try to get it fixed ASAP. This also means (I think) that Lurker
is probably not archiving e-mails at the moment.

I have imported the handful of missing e-mails into Lurker, and this
e-mail should appear in the archive of its own course.

I have also got the "Planet" up and running again:
https://hantslug.org.uk/planet/

If anyone experiences any problems then please post here to to webmaster
@ the domain.

Thanks,

Welcome Phill! I hope you enjoy your time. The list is fairly quiet
these days but it seems there are always people lurking ready to help
with questions or problems!

That's very sad news. I remember Vic attending a good number of LUG

Re: [Hampshire] Annual General Meeting - Future of the LUG

2016-08-11 Thread Tony Whitmore via Hampshire

Hi Tim,

On 10/08/16 22:59, Tim Brocklehurst via Hampshire wrote:

We have three options (this will form the agenda for the meeting):

1) A new committee is elected and the LUG continues as normal. Existing
committee members can stand for re-election. I will not be standing. -
Please submit nominations to chair...@hantslug.org.uk

2) The committee is disbanded and the constitution suitably updated to
enable a sole LUG member to act as benefactor; to maintain the mailing
list and optionally the website as they see fit with a suitable degree of
consultation from the membership. In this case the current LUG funds will
not be handed over to the benefactor.

3) The group is wound up. The mailing list and website will be taken
off-line and the domain-name either retained for 12 months, or given to
another LUG in Hampshire. No funds will be retained (see below).

Is just leaving the hants.lug.org.uk domain and the mailing list intact
an option? Presumably that is zero cost and would allow what little
traffic there is to the mailing list (and whatever to the website) to
continue.

Best regards,

Tim Brocklehurst

Thanks to you and the other committee members for you efforts in keeping
things ticking over.
