Re Patrick Martin's catch on 729 last night, and Bruce Portzer's
suggestion it's Vanuatu.
From what I can gather, VBTC technicians were at Luganville on Santo
in Vanuatu recently working on a local relay of CCTV [China], and a
relay of VBTC [Radio Vanuatu] programs over Halo FM, a local station
Suriname, 4990, Radio Apintie, 0924-0935 Noted musical selections and
comments in Dutch from a man and woman. Signal was rather poor. I didn't
expect this to get any better this morning since Suriname is already in

See a variety of DXpedition exploits in South Australia,
Sweden on 1179 is heard here several times a year, but the SER outlets
(Canary Islands Spain) usually top that frequency. Other stations
such
as Romania and Greece have also been heard on 1179, but much less
regularly than either Sweden or the SER outlets.
