A new shortwave station broadcasting from Asikkala, Finland, is planning for
a launch on Saturday June 1st 2024. The name of the station is Radio Piko.
Test transmissions are due late May. Frequencies are 3990, 5980, and 9770
kHz - and the station will be active Saturdays and Sundays until August
Ifrikiya FM from Algeria has been heard in English for several days now at
1800-1810 UTC on 15160 and 17600 kHz. Great reception.

World Music Radio (WMR) is testing a new 300 Watts transmitter (AM carrier)
on 25800 kHz since February 19 - instead of the old one which was 60 Watts
(AM carrier) only. Unfortunately we are causing some interference to a
local Ethernet set up. So at times modulation has been lowered, and
LRA36 back on the air with nice signal on 15476 kHz in USB-mode. Spanish
announcements and now (2012 UTC) non stop music.

(even though I am beaming south) , and so I will leave the transmitter on
till Monday morning UTC.

BBC will be moving away from 25800 kHz from Monday 24th April 2023 for the
transmission Mo-Fr 1400-1430 UTC in Hausa via CVA. The new for BBC frequency
will be 25700 kHz. Thus leaving World Music Radio on 25800 kHz in the
clear.
World Music Radio - will be on the air on 15700 kHz (300
World Music Radio (WMR) now on the air Saturdays and Sundays on 15700 kHz
only - but occasionally also weekdays.
WMR will be on the air today Wednesday at 1000-1500 UTC on 15700 kHz, when
cost of electricity here is very low J

Very nice report. Thanks for taking an interest in the low powered,
shortwave stations in Europe, which otherwise are neglected by some.
World Music Radio on 5930 kHz is currently running 160 Watts.
Radio Piepzender and Sunlite are broadcasting from Zwolle and Westdorpe
which are not in neither
