AIB calls for entries for broadcasting awards: (06-Apr-06) The Association for International Broadcasting (AIB) is calling for entries for the 2006 International Broadcasting Awards, which will have new categories to reward the best talent and programming in international TV and radio broadcasting. The 2006 Awards are building on the success of the inaugural AIB International Broadcasting Awards that were launched in 2005. The closing date for entries is 1 May 2006. This year's awards will include an Achievement Award that will be presented to someone who has worked within the international broadcasting sector and has made a lasting, positive impact on the industry. "It is important that the people working within international broadcasting receive recognition from their peers for the work they carry out every day of the year," said AIB Chief Executive, Simon Spanswick. The Awards will be presented at a gala event in Singapore during the week of BroadcastAsia 2006 in June. The event is supported by MediaCorp-Singapore.
