** ALBANIA. 9855-, Aug 3 at 0055, surprised to find R. Tirana on air half an
hour early, with IS vs humroar attaining only S3; still so at 0110, and
apparently stays on, but by 0129 check all I hear is roar, no IS, nor 0130
English modulation. 0141 still like that but it`s weakening to S2, below the
noise level.

Wolfgang Büschel reports on the previous Albanian broadcast:

``9854.969, Radio Tirana Albanian service to NW Europe and Northern
America, 23-24 UT via Shijak shortwave center. Observed at 2310-2325 UT on Aug
2-UTC, in Germany western Europe skip zone poor and tiny at S=6 or -94dBm
fluttery signal.

AUDIO SIGNAL - is STILL NOT CLEAN !
TERRIBLE BUZZY ROAR modulation signal.

weak and tiny
MA/NJ-USA S=6-7 or -84dBm.
Detroit MI-USA S=5 or -98dBm.

Some garden fence like - strings visible, 9 x 100 Hertz mainpower apart
distance buzz 'visible' and heard, listen to enclosed recording of tonight
[selected SDR options, span 12.5 kHz RBW 15.3 Hertz] (wb df5sx, wwdxc BC-DX

** BRAZIL. 11687 approx. centered, August 3 at 0058, here`s the spurblob from
11780 RNA, about 93 kHz below, matching modulation peaks but totally
unreadable, and yes, the twin 93 kHz above is also audible around 11873, but
this time abutting 11870 WEWN. Not as strong as last night, and at 0142 I look
for 2 x 93 second-order blobs around 11594 and 11966 but don`t hear those.

Brazilian DXers in the radioescutas yg have finally taken note of my frequent
logs of spurs from 11780 and 6180, and Rudolf Grimm asserts that he does not
hear any. Up here you can`t help but notice them in routine bandscanning.

Wolfgang Büschel also heard these about an hour earlier: ``11780.007 S=9+15dB
or -53dBm signal at 2359 UT, announcement at 0000 UT noticias. Yes two 9 kHz
wide spurious scratchy signals at 11683 - 11692 kHz and 11868 - 11877 kHz,
disturbs also EWTN co-channel, S=6 or -92dB signal`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA. 15159.98, Aug 3 at 0112, melodic rap, in English? but 0114 Chinese
announcement, more music, 0117 extended Chinese talk. What`s CRI coming to? For
that is it, not much else on 19m now except Cuba and Australia. 500 kW, 59
degrees from Jinhua site aims it close to USward, only intended for Japan &
Korea (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CUBA. 6000, August 2 at 0611, this RHC English frequency is OFF, and so is
5040, but still on are 6060, 6100, 6165.

6000, August 3 at 0122, RHC English is barely modulated, this time softer than
undermodulated // 6165 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 9420, August 3 at 0052, open carrier/dead air from ERA, which is
unusual; still so at 0107 check, or is it JBM? 9935 is not on. This follows
earlier news from Ivo Ivanov, Bulgaria, August 2: ``Voice of Greece, dead air
from 0735 on 9420 and 11645 and continues at 0935 -- 73!`` (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935.0-USB, Aug 3 at 0117, pirate at S7 with harmonica music,
blues singing; 0119 announcement of a .org and a toll-free 888-67+++++ number;
0130 talk is mixing with music, but can`t pull out IDs, if any. C&W version of
``Don`t Bogart That Joint, My Friend, Pass It Over To Me`` then urging
sing-along; 0132 parody of Sesame Street theme and ``today`s letter is ---
joint``. Still going past 0144+ with music around S7. Many logs here say it was

** PERU. 5980, August 3 at 0101, JBA carrier from R. Chaski until autocutoff at
0102:51.5*, just when I calculated it should be, i.e. 19.5 seconds later than
last catch three nights ago, July 31 until 0102:32*, slippage averaging 6.5
seconds later per (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SAUDI ARABIA. 11820.04, August 2 at 2000, BSKSA is talking in Arabic,
doesn`t start Qur`aning until 2018 for a few minutes, more talk past 2030
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 4875.0-USB, August 3 at 0135, MARS net mostly under the noise level
but I can tell it`s Air Force with calls tentatively AFA4HC, AFR4T; 0138 into
digital blast, and nothing further heard in voice. They had a het from
4875.1-AM, no doubt the usual R. Roraima, Brasil. My last log of AF MARS on
4875 was August 22, 2012 as in DXLD 12-34 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1836 monitoring: confirmed Tuesday August 2 at 2130 on
WRMI 15770, fair; also confirmed Tue Aug 2 at 2330 on WBCQ, 9329.953-CUSB, good
S9. Next:
Wed 1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5129.89-AM, UT Wed Aug 3 at 0124, WBCQ with some music but it`s still
apparently `Amateur Radio Roundtable`, into talk about the song just played,
which is on the YouTube channel of guest Joe Husger (sp?). S9 but not enough to
overcome the storm noise level (OK & TX Panhandles) (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7489.98, UT Wed Aug 3 at 0047, wild music at S9+30, presumably con
show `Dead Frog Radio` at its new time on WBCQ. Wolfgang Büschel also reports:
``7489.986, 13.6 kHz wide signal, S=9+30dB or -50dBm proper. WBCQ1 program? At
0053 UT on Aug 3 heard Balkan European style music in Yugoslav language? Nice
audio, nice music selection, not the dull mainstream music. 73 wb`` (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 12105-, August 3 at 0106, WTWW-3 is S9+20 of dead air; getting to be
a habit. Wolfgang Büschel says it was in Russian at 0040, only 3 Hz low. 9475,
WTWW-1 is nominal, and 5085, WTWW-3 is S9+50 tonight at 0127 check with QSO
playback (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505.45, August 3 at 0108, WRNO with gospel music, drifting up
slowly, to 7505.56 by 0109. Wolfgang Büschel was monitoring about the same
time: ``7505v, August 3 at 0103, WRNO much frequency variable, 100 Hertz up and
down wandered, 7505.250 ... 7505.350 kHz, 7505.405 exact at 0107 UT. 2 x 5.5
kHz wide signal visible`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5810, August 3 at 0123, NO signal from this WEWN, while the other
Spanish, 11870 is on with Rosary, but tsk2 is QRMed by the 11873ish RNA spur
from BRAZIL, q.v. 11520 WEWN English is also on (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)
