which is 1000 watts from Chapleau, Ontario.
353-MCW kHz, Jan 8 at 0715, dash and NDB PG, which is 25 watts at
Portage-la-Prairie, Manitoba. CCI from two USA stations, q.v. (Glenn

** EQUATORIAL GUINEA [non]. 15190, Jan 8 at 2026 check, R. Africa Network via
WRMI has good signal level but very undermodulated. The mod level on this is
never up to par, nor on the preceding frequency before 2000, 17790. WRMI sked
shows it`s transmitter #7; its only other use is also on the 87
** ALBANIA [and non]. 7425, checking for R. Tirana`s collision with China, Jan
8 at 2354, only non-Albanian music, fairly good signal; then *2355 R. Tirana IS
starts and mixes; other station off after 2357 leaving RT more or less clear.
HFCC shows what the ChiCom are doing: 23-24 is 500 kW, 177
** FRANCE [non]. Despite RFI having canceled all its English broadcasts on SW,
it joins some other ex-SW broadcasters, such as Prague and Slovakia and Israel,
in being `preserved` thanks to WRMI relaying WRN: UT Tue-Sat 0500-0600 on 9955
according to the latest schedules (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LI
** ARGENTINA. 11710+, Jan 8 at 0627 surprised to hear a poor signal in Spanish;
0629 electronic music melody repeated, an IS? Suppose not. 0630 automatic 3-pip
timesignal about 2 seconds late as music continues. Would be the OSOB were it
not for stronger NZ on 11725. 0635 signal improving a bit,
** BRAZIL [and non]. Jan 9 at 0647 noticed that RNA open carrier was on 11780
but no modulation yet. 6185 also still had XEPPM with Cuban music unimpeded.
But at *0648:30, carrier and modulation from RNA cut on 6185 overriding XEPPM,
and shortly after at *0645:45 modulation cut on // 11780 with
