Pakistan allocates US$7.57m for broadcasting industry:

Pakistan has allocated US$7.57 million (451.23 million rupees) for its 
broadcasting industry for the year 2005-2006, the Associated Press of 
Pakistan news agency has reported.
The money will be used to carry out 17 new projects of Pakistan Television 
Corporation (PTV), Pakistan Broadcasting Corporation (PBC), Directorate of 
Film and Publications (DFP) and Press Information Department (PID).
PTV will receive US$5 million (300 million rupees) to replace the 
electronic equipment at its stations and US$33,580 (two million rupees) for 
the expansion of its TV channel, PTV 2. Some of the money will also be used 
for TV production and transmission facilities for its AJK TV.
PTV will also receive another US$1.67 million (99.84 million rupees) to set 
up broadcast stations at Qila Saifullah, Umerkot, Orakzai, South Wazirstan, 
Mohmand Agency, Ziarat, Pooran, Besham, Shakargarh, Buner and Kund Bangla.
Meanwhile, PBC will receive US$467,243 (27.829 million rupees) to set up a 
100kW mediumwave transmitter and broadcasting house at Turbat. (ABU Website)
