** AMSTERDAM ISLAND [non]. Looking for FT5ZM Amsterdam Island, nominal
24955-USB on penultimate day on air, but Feb 11 at 2257 only hear a modest
pileup on 24945-USB including KB1WH; and at 2307 someone working an HL5 on
24945-USB. Said they would start dismantling Feb 12
http://www.amsterdamdx.org/new-pictures-from-amsterdam-island/
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** DIEGO GARCIA. 12759-USB, Feb 12 at 0114 check, trace of SSB talk from
presumed AFN, just before booming AM signal from 11905 Sri Lanka, q.v. (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** EGYPT. 9720, Feb 12 at 0109, R. Cairo is managing to modulate for a change,
but the music is extremely distorted; better to keep quiet. During Spanish
service, unchecked what happened with English after 0200.

Meanwhile, 9965, Feb 12 at 0109 has constant pitch whine, but the talk
modulation is much better, readable for the Arable (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** GREECE. 7475 // better 9420, Feb 12 at 0106, Helliniki Radiophonia is on the
air again with good signals, pop music. Wolfgang B?schel found it missing from
all frequencies Feb 10 and 11 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** HAWAII. 24959-USB, Feb 11 at 2255, W1AW/KH6 calling QRZ and working numerous
mainlanders; so this is Hawaii week in the bi-state marathon of W1AW surrogates
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 1580, Feb 10 at 2137 UT, KOKB Blackwell is dead air as heard on
the caradio, enough carrier to quieten the channel compared to some neighbors
modulating. [Date correct, omitted from previous report; had left note in the
car]. Recheck about 24 hours later on Feb 11, it`s back to sports talk (Glenn
Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** PERU. 5980, Feb 12 at 0101, R. Chaski carrier followed until cutoff at
0102:26.5*, which is 16.5 seconds later than three nights ago, keeping up the
+5.5 seconds/night precession (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SINT MAARTEN. 24938-USB, Feb 11 at 2259, PJ7TM mentions he`s running 100
watts to a vertical. QRZ.com lookup:

PJ7TM
Thomas Metz
Villa 13 Point Pirouette
St. Martin
St. Maarten

Other home call is K2GSJ in Sag Harbor NY, but at PJ7 five months a year. Also
says,

`` OPERATING --- I refused to work a number of stations that consistently and
deliberately break into an existing QSO, or when they call out of their turn,
when I have called out a specific geographical area or when I call a station
with only partial call letters. I very much understand when people make
mistakes, because we all do. But when a station continues with the malpractice
of constantly calling, even after being asked to stop, then there is no excuse
for such behavior. I just note the call and no matter how many times I am
called by the station, I will not respond to it. You stand a far better chance
of making it into the log by respecting the DX code of conduct! When fellow
hams continue this bad practice after being asked nicely and repeatedly to
stop, I then just go QRT as it stops being fun anymore. Please follow the DX
code of conduct. Thank you! Tom Metz`` (Glenn Hauser, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SRI LANKA. 11905, Feb 2 at 0114, SLBC has just come on air with big open
carrier, heavy flutter, then drumming, giving way to 3-pip timesignal ending
10.5 seconds later than 0115:00, opening in Hindi pronouncing full name SLBC as
in English, on to nice S Asian vocal music. Meanwhile India had not been
audible on 11985 and barely audible on 11740 in service to SL until 0115 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9955, Tue Feb 11 at 2328, WRMI is in Spanish atop pulse jamming,
talking about a golpe de estado in Argentina, probably historical DX program,
mentions LR1, Casa Florida, etc. Since it continues past 2330, most likely the
hour-long `La Rosa de Tokio`. This hour has been scheduled as F?mily Radio in
Spanish, the last remnant of ``WYFR``, but yesterday, Mon Feb 10, Ivo Ivanov
heard Brother Scare on it and concluded it was a permanent M-F schedule change.
Not: things remain flexible at WRMI; who knows what will happen tomorrow. After
0100 UT Wed Feb 12, 9955 is airing `Wavescan`.

7570 was previously on from 2200 with BS but still not heard by 2330 Feb 11,
altho it had been on at 0641 as in my previous report. Next check, Feb 12 at
0107, 7570 is on again with BS, so apparently reactivated on a more limited
schedule than before. This is // and synchro with 11565 WRMI, checked just in
case there might have been a station/site switchero like there was on 7490,
with which this is now way out of synch, WBCQ at this hour (Glenn Hauser, OK,
DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5110v-CUSB, UT Wed Feb 12 at 0104 and 0117 chex, WBCQ is not on the
air. Probably coming on after 0155 now four nights a week as per log UT Friday
Feb 7 (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

This report dispatched at 0537 UT February 12

Yes noted in NY, Edmonton-Alb-CAN and CA-USA remote units at 0730 UT.
Footprint 6069.964 kHz on lower sideband. S=4 in NY and CA, but stronger in

** CANADA. 6070, Feb 12 at 0642, CFRX is back! with talkshow, mostly YL, but
heavy ACI this semihour from 6075 Vatican. That should lessen as spring
approaches and disappear in A-14 with VR probably moving back up to 7250, at
0530. Tnx to Stephen Wood in MA for tip earlier Feb 12 that it was back on, but
so is Radio Habana Cuba, which glommed onto the frequency shortly after CFRX
crashed a few months ago, still scheduled 00-05 UT in Spanish.

In the meantime, CFRB stopped running comedy overnight.
Here`s the Wednesday schedule in EST [UT -5] from
http://www.newstalk1010.com/schedule.aspx

12:00 AM - 2:00 AM Humble & Fred
2:00 AM - 4:00 AM Loveline With Dr. Drew & Mike
4:00 AM - 5:00 AM The Week in Review with John Tory
5:00 AM - 5:30 AM The Early Edition with Robert Turner
5:30 AM - 9:00 AM Adrienne Batra & Peter Shurman
 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM Jerry Agar
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM Beyond the Mic with Mike Bullard
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM Jim Richards Showgram
4:00 PM - 7:00 PM Live Drive with John Tory
7:00 PM - 10:00 PM Friendly Fire with Ryan Doyle and John Downs
10:00 PM - 12:00 AM The Late Shift with Bill Hayes

IIRC, Mayor Ford is no longer welcome at CFRB, but how about his brother? I
suspect they really have news on the hour and perhaps other
times, ignored above. Next check at 1437 UT Feb 12, could not detect a carrier,
which should have been possible even in daytime. Would those closer to Toronto
confirm whether it`s still on the air in daytime? Yes, Wolfgang B?schel did
with remote receivers which were still getting CFRX at 1900 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WORLD OF RADIO 1708, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** CHINA [and non]. 11780, Feb 12 at 1504, Firedrake with flutter, CCI from
presumed victim as in Aoki, VOA Uzbek via Kuwait during this semihour only, as
the ChiCom interfere in the internal affairs of Uzbekistan.

9570, Feb 12 at 1513, more Firedrake, also vs VOA Uzbek, this time via Vatican,
only during this semihour. FD fair and clear here, off at 1537 check (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also CUBA [and non]

** CUBA [and non]. 11760, Feb 12 at 1449, RHC with heavy CCCCCCI, tnx to their
good friends the ChiCom who have to jam Sound of Hope with CNR1, at 1300-1500
(and per Aoki also Sat & Sun 09-11 before RHC comes up). Yes, 1503 check, RHC
is mostly in the clear. Commies vs Commies!

15340, Feb 12 at 1453, RHC is missing yet again, but not much signal from HCJB
Australia to uncover this time (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 7570, Feb 12 at 0640, WRMI is on again with Brother
Scare, VG signal. Finally dated Feb 11, WRMI graphic schedule grid has been
updated, showing 7570 at 0100-1100, 315 degrees, same transmitter #11 as used
on 9955 at 14-22. So that adds 10 hours a day to the BS overkill, back up to 58
instead of 48. No other apparent changes in the frequency grid (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST) See also USA: WWRB

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1708 monitoring: ready for first broadcast UT Thursday
Feb 13 at 0430 on WRMI 9955. Next:

Thursday 1330 on WRMI 9955
Thursday 2201 on WTWW 9475
UT Friday 0326v on WWRB 3195
Saturday 0730 & 1530 on Hamburger Lokalradio 7265-CUSB
UT Sunday 0030 on WRMI 9495
UT Sunday 0030 on WTWW 5085
UT Sunday 0501 on WTWW 5830
UT Monday 0400v on Area 51 via WBCQ 5110v-CUSB
Tuesday 1200 on WRMI 9955
Wednesday 0730 & 1530 on Hamburger Lokalradio 7265-CUSB
Wednesday 1400 on WRMI 9955

Remember, WOR podcasts are available ASAP Thursdays thanks to the Rhein-Main
Radio Club. Find the link at the left side of http://www.rmrc.de
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 9350 & 9390 peaks, and also everywhere between them and fundamental
9370, Feb 12 at 1443, huge humbuzz atop Brother Scare on WWRB. The transmitter
had been putting out spurs for a week or two, but now it`s gone completely
bonkers. Notified Dave he should take it off and repair it. Next check at 2012,
still on with humbuzz but weaker and not so spurry. Presumably the same
transmitter funxions at night on 3185, but have not noticed any such problems
around that (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. They must have read it in the WRTH Update: WINB homepage says:
``NOTICE Beginning March 1, 2014, WINB will broadcast the entire schedule on
9265 kHz.`` This means the signal will sink into the summer daytime noise
level, but why not?

Already gone is the only program worth listening to, `Wavescan`, instead an
unID gospel huxter at 2015 Wednesday Feb 12 on 13570. I was going to
http://www.winb.com to check the program schedule on that, which has finally
been updated as of Feb 9. Wed 2000-2030 UT is now `King`s Embassy of the Air`.
And Wavescan is nowhere else on it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7505-SSB, Feb 12 at 0638 tuneacross, ``how copy?`` and out.
Sounds like a US military frequency, maybe MARS. They may have something to say
about WRNO intruding (or somewhere near there), or maybe cool with it for only
three hours a day? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

my reception report, with the attached schedule confirming my report, and to
