MONGOLIA Daily SW Transmitter Maintenance tests:

> Maybe also happen on the other Ulan Bataar

my assumption regarding Ulaanbaatar Konkhor 12015v kHz test also in the
00.30 - 01.30 UTC slot came true:

12014.795 kHz signal string noted at 00.46 UT today on Friday Dec 15.

? Mongolian time zone - is exact really happen on morning technical
maintenance check ?

- morning technical check by the engineers on weekdays ?

to check exciter, TX, feeder line, Antenna gear etc. etc.
and transmit the local Mongolian sce program via this 25 mband outlet real
on air ?

Maybe also happen on the other Ulan Bataar
QRG of 12015v, - before or after that time slot ?

Hi Wolfie,
thanks. The offset would definitely suggest Mongolia and also the language.
Maybe they tested morning transmission?
It is visible in bandscan on 12 Dec, but not this morning:

Radio Beacon KA7OEI , West Jordan, Utah, 2060 miles from Douglas, MA noted at
0910 UTC, Dec. 15 on .475802 mhz longwave. Signal strength -32 DB in WSPR Mode.
So far not a great longwave season probably do to the relatively mild
temperatures in southern New England. RX: Palstar R30A and horizontal loop and
antenna. Bill Smith

** CANADA. 2598 USB, Dec 15 at 0446 UT, S7 YL voice in French with
marine weather, keeps mentioning ``vendredi`` = Friday forecasts. 2749
USB sounds like the same, S9. Confirmed // with 2598 on the R75,
enough sig into DX-398 with reelout clip-on to hear 2749 USB matching,
but 2749 with a slight split-second delay. DXinfocentre.com shows at
this hour from 0437, final broadcasts of the day before a 3-hour
pause:
2598, VBQ-22, Natashquan (Escoumins), FF/EE 600 watts;
2749, VCN, Escoumins, FF/EE, 600 watts.
Both in Qu?bec, Les Escoumins is on the left bank/NW shore of the
St-Laurent, east of Saguenay. Natashquan further up the north coast
across from the east end of Anticosti island. Distance between them
587 km = 365 stmi = 317 nmi. Listing implies Escoumins is the
originator, contradicting the monitored delay. Google cannot translate
Escoumins from French; perhaps a proper name (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 4765, Dec 15 at 0455, R. Progreso, S9+30/40 with music but
suptorted. Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 5910, Dec 15 at 0456, no CRI relay so COLOMBIA is audible. If
active, CRI should not be turned off quite yet, but need to check the
03-05 UT broadcast earlier; on Dec 13 it was already missing by 0446.
Something`s always wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 6000, Dec 15 at 0459, RHC S9+20/30 but JBM, suptorted,
presumed English. Not noticed active on any other frequency.
Something`s very wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** EGYPT. 9440, Dec 15 at 2123 direct, S7/9+10 of dead air in English
from R. Cairo. Something`s egregious in Egypt (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 7390, Dec 15 at 0505, S9+10/20 of deadair. Scheduled is RFI
in French to Africa at 05-07; if it please you, modulate? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 AM, Dec 15 at 0502, music at S7/S9. Must be
pirate but nothing reported now in HFU; however a ``Happy Hanukkah
Radio`` was being heard Dec 14 & 15 after 1230 UT on 6935 AM:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,122607.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 7220, Dec 15 at 0503, Romanian talk about Moldova,
presumably news, from RRI Galbeni, 05-06 for WEu, S9+10/20 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 1323 kHz, Dec 15 at 2308, German songs and announcements
received at Noale and UTwente, after QRMing IRRS with WOR until 2200
and on a bit longer with news. This has got to be R. Neumarkt, a
MW-only German language service via as in mwlist:

``SRR Radio T?rgu Mure? Minorit??i/Marosv?s?rhelyi R?di?/Radio
Neumarkt SRR Marosv?s?rhelyi R?di? 0345-0500 hu [SaSu], SRR
Marosv?s?rhelyi R?di? 0345-1900 hu [Mo-Fr], SRR Radio T?rgu Mure?
Minorit??i 0500-0600 rom [SaSu], SRR Marosv?s?rhelyi R?di? 0600-1800
hu [Su], SRR Marosv?s?rhelyi R?di? 0600-1900 hu [Sa], SRR Radio
Neumarkt 1900-2000 de [Mo-Sa]`` --- but not at this hour, extended
perhaps for holidays. Cuts off abruptly in mid-aria at 2337*! More
about Neumarkt:
https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radio_Neumarkt
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690, Fri Dec 15 at 2314, token English from SNR, VG S9+25
into Maryland SDR amid an interview about democracy, no time to listen
in detail (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 5960.018, Dec 15 at 2310, VOT English not off the
air, but with very annoying squeal, a different transmitter than usual
with different offset. It`s slightly reduced by narrowing UTwente
bandwidth to 5 kHz, but 2.5 required to eliminate it, too narrow.
S9+30. 2310 end news, music break, 2311 start `Review of the Turkish
Press`. 2350 recheck, ending `Did You Know That` spoken
incomprehensibly by the badax; ``with-you-every-hour`` promo, music.
2353 s/off version with all-wrong local times called ``UTC``.
Considerable CCCCCCI thruout. 2355 IS less than once and off*
uncovering XJPBS East Turkistan, land of imperialist ChiCom genocide
against Uyghurs and other Moslems. That is only 1 Hz off-frequency
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2221 monitoring: confirmed Friday
December 15 at 2136 the 2130 on IRRS SW via AM Italia, 1323 kHz, but
with musical CCI under into UTwente; both stronger into Noale so
probably Romania on variable sked, 3 Hz SAH. See ROMANIA. Still not on
918 or 207 kHz, but 918 with something weak in Russian? sounds like.
MWlist shows nothing in Eurussia nor anything else likely to be in
that language; largest area powers are in Iran, Egypt, Nigeria.

Also confirmed Friday December 15 at 2312 the 2300, the first SWBC on
WRMI 9955, S7/9+10 into Bonaire SDR with Cuban pulse jamming quite
evident underneath. Next:

** U S A. 9455, Dec 15 at 0729, this WRMI is S9+40 with hymnsong in
Spanish, F?mily Radio but suptorted and splatter way way down to 9200.
Modpeaks match this rather than 9395 or 9330. Strangely, not so to the
plus side. Something`s off at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7489.950, 6159.931, 5130.311, 3265 off, Dec 16 at 0051, WBCQ
frequency chex; 0100 `AAAWWW` starts on 7 and presumably 5, obviously
a replay of last week with interjexion ``sixty`` during that William
Tell Overture pause (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, Dec 15 at 0734 tune-in, just as a WRNO ID plays, but
overrun by an impatient gospel huxter in English, making double audio
feed, S9+20/38. Something`s frequently wrong at Fort Worth (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search Dec 15 from 0435:
531, 819, 855, 891, 999, 1107-2 beating. Axually tuned downward in
reverse order. 819 is an unusual one: WRTH 2023 shows nothing
significant in Europe; major sig 300 kW Egypt; lesser sigs in Iran,
Mauritius, Sudan (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1218.1 approx., JBA carrier hetting 1220.0 stations.
Reminds me of 2011/2013y era when KMVL Madisonville TX was on 1219.84
and/or its co-channel experimental booster. Current mwoffsets shows
only one lower than that, WERT Van Wert OH on 1219.5 as of 2023-08-12.
Adding time and date! 0751 UT Dec 14, 2023 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 5990, Dec 15 at 0458, S9/+10 open carrier, something
about to s/on? Still dead air past 0500; by 0510 possibly JBM. Aoki &
EiBi show PBS Qinghai, Xining in Tibetan until 0600, certainly not,
from midday there; EiBi, also Studio Denakker, Holland, could be there
24h in English. Surely lowpower, rarely if ever reported. Another
possibility, CRI via CUBA is on 5990 at 23-01, perhaps that
transmitter on now? But much too weak compared to 6000, unless maybe
exciter only? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6640 & 6668 USBs, Dec 15 at 0738, separate ATC contacts
with selcall tones. EiBi shows 6640 could be NY or SF, but nothing on
6668 exactly; Azores & Ireland on 6667 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
