** CUBA. 4765, Oct 4 at 0030, R. Progreso is on, *just now? at
S9+20/40 but suptorted JBM, CODAR QRM sweeping also audible despite
its strength. At 0032 tuning up to 4780-4787 there is an extremely
distorted spurblob peaking about 4783, which when compared to 4765 on
another receiver makes a match with difficulty, only by modulation
peaks at first, then with traces of music mod. A new spur from
RadioCuba, where something always be wrong. No match on the minus side
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5025, Oct 4 at 0038, the other Cuban domestic station, R.
Rebelde, is also suptorted in music at S9+20/30. Something`s always
wrong at RadioCuba (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA. 5040, Oct 4 at 0042, RHC may be putting its spur on 5081, but
can`t unravel it from 5085 WTWW distortion, q.v. (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CUBA. 15230, Oct 4 at 1415, RHC is S9 but JBM, while 15140 is S9+20
with good modulation for a change except for some hum. Something`s
always wrong at RHC (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6950-USB, Oct 4 at 0027, S9+10 pirate with
novelty/soul song ``Young Girl``. I bet it`s Wolverine Radio: yes, ID
next at 0029.6; 0047 compared to WBCQ 6159.9 equal level but more
modulation here. Recheck at 0117 it`s off. Many more logs here:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,72460.0.html
with extensive playlists, some showing the 0027 song instead as
``Young Blood``, the theme being titles with Young or Old in them,
between 0005 and 0113 closing with SSTV (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A.. 5050, UT Sun Oct 4 at 0039, WWRB in its weekend-only
activity, heavy background noise like aircraft engine makes gospel
huxter mostly unreadable, but seems to be quoting Qur`an to paint it
as unpeaceful, also Jeremiah among Abrahamists (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 5085, UT Sun Oct 4 at 0042, WTWW-2 with `Theater Organ Under
the Arch` underway, S9+40/50 but heavily distorted ruining it and am
not near the computer for a quick switch to $tereo webcast. Is beyond
me why such stations keep broadcasting that way driving away
listeners, rather than just turning it off if they can`t fix it.
Excess distortion on the lower sideband difficultizes distinguishing
any RHC spur circa 5081 from 5040 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 6159.9v, UT Sun Oct 4 at 0047, WBCQ with rock music at
S9/+20. Better reception from musical pirate Wolverine Radio on
6950-USB, q.v. Larry Will has revived his website to include advance

Also detailing `Old Tyme Radio` on weeknights (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 363-MCW kHz, Oct 4 at 0623 UT, ND beacon SA is JBA. But
none such listed at dxinfocentre or classaxe on any frequency 362 thru
365 kHz. Possibly something miskeyed as certainly can happen? There
are 2-letter calls ending in A on 365: AA in Fargo ND, and JA in Jaxon
MS (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. Cursory Trans-Atlantic JBA MW carrier search Oct 4 at
0629 finds significant signals on 684 and 837 kHz, most likely Spain
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. For the last few days, Andy Reid in Ontario has been
reporting noise at 15400, e.g. after 1200 Oct 4 QRMing BBC French.
Wolfgang Bueschel doesn`t hear it via numerous remote chex and thinx
it be something local to Andy. But:

15400 === well, now I am hearing it, at 1503 Oct 4 when little else is
propagating on 19m except Cuba. It is fading slightly, so not local.
It`s a rapid pulsing/buzzing, and there is a carrier at the center.
Does not sound like any of the local birdies I get, altho I have not
tried to turn everything off. Jammer? Not like the ones we know. I see
that R Tamazuj via France is scheduled, this hour only. Maybe ISS site
out of order? Not otherwise to be heard any programming. But that
would be on air only this hour. I suggest everyone look for it before
1600.

Monitoring 15400 via UTwente before and after 1600: there is a JBA
fading carrier with no change at 1600; cannot detect any of the noise
vs the ambient band noise above, on, and below the frequency. BBC
Ascension is scheduled to resume at 1700 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)
