up to the SGLs with the hopes that they'd be coming in at armchair copy with

awoke at 1000. Wasn't going to go but then caught RRI Manokwari doing
fairly well on 3987.06, so changed my mind. Conditions were still the same

7 March 2009: Since the propagation data looked similar to yesterday, I

PIRATE (EUROPE) 6220 Mystery R. After getting Chris Ise Yahoo SW Pirates
post that CWR was on, checked the freq at 1849 not expecting to hear
anything as it seemed much too early. To my surprise, the carrier tone was
barely audible in sideband but definitely there!! That's 4 hours and 24
9541.52 SIBC/R. Happy Isles Set the timer on the radio and MD recorder to
record over the 1200 ToH when they close down their own pgmming in the hopes
of catching their closing ID anmnt. Indeed, at 1154 lively Island song,
1155 M w/pgm closing, 1156-1200 M w/prayers, fanfare mx bridge, then
DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO 6210 R. Kahuzi Shocked to get a nice
reply in the mail from the BESI/R. Kahuzi headquarters in San Marcos, CA
today. Confirmation freq folder card handmade by members of a Radio Kahuzi
Club utilizing dried banana bark. The cards are sold in the local
BRAZIL 6089.95 R. Bandierantes 0949 apparent nx pgm w/M hosting. Ment

23 OCTOBER 2009: I wanted to get out for a morning micro-DXpedition and see
how the Perseus mobile setup worked. Used the Perseus with Guys Atkins
Wellbrook preamp run off the 12v gel cell. It was a pleasant morning for a
micro-DXpedition. Warm and dry. A very loud Great Horned Owl
BRAZIL 6160.052 R. Rio Mar?? R. Boa Vontade?? 1005 definite tlk by M and
W in PT. A lot of jingles at t/in. Poss. ment of Sao Paulo. 1008 caught what
sounded like a full ID w/ment of quilohertz, but a bit too fady and weak.
Then ads. No doubt it's a ZY. No sign of the Canadians.

AUSTRALIA 2368.49 R. Symban Was surprised to get a peak on the signal at
times on the Perseus spectrum display this morning in the 1235-1250 time frame,
and even thought I had some tlking briefly around 1242. Highly tentative
though. The other 120mb Aussies were OK, not particularly good.
PAPUA NEW GUINEA 3385 R. East New Britain Usual pgming w/fairly nice signal
before it started fading around 1245. Really noisy though. Finally went off
at 1334:52 in mid-song. Decent signal on 3325 at 1312, probably Bougainville
after pgm had already ended. Sounded like the Indo was
24 JANUARY 2010: Was out primarily for European Pirates on this
micro-DXpedition. The few ZYs left on 60 meters were quite good. Better than
they have been this season. Should have checked 31 meters but didn't.
RX: Microtelecom Perseus SDR with ARR preamp.

one station service.program., and .tomorrow ?? radio broadcast.long Papua
Southern Highlands Province.. Then a number of songs in a row over ToH, and M

INDIA/BRAZIL??? 3364.961 AIR Delhi, India?? and 3365 R. Cultura, Araraquara,
Brazil?? Definitely 2 stations here first noted at 2350. Stronger signal,
which was pres. India, was just below 3365. Tlk by what sounded like 2
different soft-spoken men anncrs in Indian dialect. W joined in at
BRAZIL 5970 R. Itatiaia 2300 nx pgm w/M host. Ad block at 2304 starting
w/nice ID promo. 2308 great promo w/freq given and M screaming ITATIAIA!!!.
Good signal and fairly clear except for a little splatter from an adjacent

BRAZIL 9505 R. Record 2316 lucky to t/in
BRAZIL 3364.94 R. Cultura 2310-2336, Presumed nx pgm to 2332 w/ID and ment
of difusoras at end, then canned anmnts including ID anmnt by M w/about a half
dozen Culturas. Best signal in the last 3 nights but getting some local
noise. Would be nice at the remote micro-DXpedition site. (13

and mx. Just wasn't strong enough to determine the language or music style.
However, it appears it would correspond with the Mesimeriana Bleximata
dedication program hosted by Dimitris that's supposed to be aired
INDONESIA 9525.97 V.O. Indonesia Strong signal but deadair to 1015. Audio
suddenly brought up at 1015 w/W in middle of cmntry in EG. 1016 brief mx
bridge, then W w/ID You're tuned to the Voice of Indonesia in Jakarta. and

short tlks later. 0847 nice canned V.O. Guyana ID w/AM and FM stereo freqs by
M over Caribbean Queen by Billy Ocean. 0848-0854 choral songs. 0854 ad,
then what sounded like an inspirational tlk segment w/a lot of

PAPUA NEW GUINEA 5960 R Fly (pres.) 1011-1022, nothing but some sort of
live sporting event. M doing the announcing, sometimes excitedly, along
with crowd noise. Faded really quickly by 1022. Could easily have copied
it, but I have nasty local QRN exactly on top. Wasn't // to Australia.
LIBERIA 4025 Star R. 0555-0602 Although the signal strength was quite
sufficient, the modulation was extremely low. Could just barely make out
some mx and what sounded like a M anncr very briefly at 0601 between songs.
If the modulation stays the same, there's no hope for this one until
