** ALBANIA. 9855-, Oct 16 at 0133, JBA carrier presumably R. Tirana, yet Turkey
bookends on 9770 and 9870 are S8 and S7 respectively (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** ARGENTINA. 11710.6v, UT Sunday Oct 16 at 0108, NO signal from RAE Argentina
al Mundo, nor after 0200. Can`t say I`m surprised, contrary to publicity that
it would now be daily instead of weekdaily. Once again to be sure it`s not just
propagation: the Brazilian weaklings on 25m are still audible, such as, almost
as strong as 11760 Habana, 11764.60 Curitiba which is about as close as you can
get to Buenos Aires. Nor any signal on 15345v which used to relay domestic R.
Nacional into weekend nights. I don`t even bother to recheck at 0300 for
English. Maybe they didn`t get the message at General Pacheco about the new
schedule? Or internal labor problems at station as implied previously, not
getting reasonable studio support from the LRA administration (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** BRAZIL. 9630, Oct 16 at tune-in during timesignal, ending at 0101:04.5,
late! Very poor signal on somewhat unstable carrier, but sounds like
multi-station ID follows for R. Aparecida and relayers such as Nove de Julho.

BTW, as Rumen Pankov reminds us, DST is just about to start in much of Brazil,
mainly at 0300 UT Oct 16, when local midnite becomes 1 am. This results in R.
Aparecida programming shifting one real UT hour earlier, and could also affect
sign on/off times of some stations; as well as official `Voz do Brasil` show
appearing one hour earlier this summer at 2100 UT weekdays instead of 2200,
altho some stations somehow avoid or delay it (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING
DIGEST)

** CANADA. 800, Oct 16 at 0150 UT, KQCV OKC fully nulled, and not a peep out of
XEROK, just ad for HBO Canada, and Canadian Tyres, from CKLW. Besides XEROK
being off or reduced to negligible power, suspect CKLW is also pushing more
than a third-rate minor lobe this way as in NRC Pattern Book map: primary one
goes NE, secondary ESE (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 640, Oct 16 at 0153, with KWPN OK nulled, instead of KFI I am
getting lounge music, applause, Spanish ID as ``BM Radio, 640``, TC for 7:53,
i.e. XEJUA Ju?rez, Chihuahua, 5 kW ``daytimer``; which along with XEP 1300 will
have to do in the absence of 800 XEROK: see CANADA (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** MEXICO. 1050, Oct 16 at 0146, ``escucha la estaci?n del evento 2,016, La
Fiesta``, says XEG Monterrey NL; referring to what? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6949.84-AM, Oct 16 at 0027, very poor S4 signal with music.
This thread (as 6950) indicates it was KCPR until 0112*
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,30526.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6940.0-USB, Oct 16 at 0029, music at S7, break for ID at
0031: ``Moonlight Radio`` (and indeed it`s a beautiful full-moon night!). More
logs of this between 2350 and 0036:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,30522.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935.0-USB, Oct 16 at 0032, S8-S9 conversation about bands,
creativity, at the Grandy (?) Ballroom in Detroit, with music background. 0041
interrupted for ``you`re listening to Northwoods Radio, with the ---[algo]---``
and back to reminiscences. More detailed logs:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,30524.0.html
All off, no pirates audible here at 0135 recheck (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA. 780, Oct 15 at 1923 UT check, KSPI Stillwater is off the air.
You`ll recall another anomaly in my previous report earlier today: relaying its
music-format FM translator in the morning, instead of usual sports/talk. Still
off just before legal sunset, at 2356 UT, as WBBM is already in the clear for a
change. Not that it deserves any consideration, trashing 770 and 790 stations
with its IBOC noise. Well, this somewhat compensates for all the times daytimer
KSPI has left its carrier on into the, or all-night. Is it ailing or are these
symptoms of a format shakeup? (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** OKLAHOMA [and non]. 1240+, Oct 15 at 1925 UT on caradio, a low audible
heterodyne between dominant KFH Wichita KS with Jayhawx net sports and
something else, which I know by long experience on daytime groundwave here must
be KADS Elk City OK. For a long time now, these two have been close enough NOT
to produce a LAH. Later on the DX-398 with offset BFO, careful tuning and
turning, I can tell that the off-frequency station is KADS, not KFH, and it is
on the hi side of 1240.

Searching my archive, I find that the closening must have been recent as of:
``July 18, 2006, daytime bandscan from Enid: 1613 UT, 1240, fast SAH, rather
than audible het as used to be the case, so KFH Wichita KS and KADS Elk City OK
are closer to frequency``

(1240 KNSS Wichita became KFH on August 30, 2004, swapped with 1330; and
another anomaly: it`s only 630 watts due to some reduced-coverage requirement
due to a too-efficient antenna.)

KADS calls were applied during a brief period when an all-want-ads format was
tried, but they have stuck, into today with the Okie ``Sports Animal`` network.
It was previously/originally KBEK as in Beckham County. FCC Call Sign History
for Facility 29030 has no info other than current KADS, so that must have been
really long ago in the XX Century. It does volunteer, ``KADS's first license
was granted 11-16-1932`` but it sure wasn`t KADS then.

KADS on 1240+ is not to be confused with KCRT Trinidad CO, which often can be
heard at night with a higher het against the ~1240.00 pileup, reported as
1240.19, as of March 20, 2015. BTW, KCRT is only 250/250 watts rather than the
usual graveyard power now of 1000/1000 (Glenn Hauser, Enid, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** SOUTH CAROLINA [non]. 7520, Oct 16 at 0055, WWCR with Brother Scare,
mentioning that he is 68 years old, so this is stale from 17 years ago. He
sounds almost as croaky as he does now (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. WORLD OF RADIO 1847 monitoring: confirmed Saturday October 15 at 2230
on WBCQ, 9330.106v-CUSB, poor. Also confirmed UT Sunday October 16 at 0326
about 11 minutes in, on WA0RCR, 1860-AM, MO, so started on time 0315. Next:
Sun 0830 Unique Radio NSW 3210 ND
Sun 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Mon 0030 WRMI 7730 to WNW
Mon 0300v WBCQ 5130v Area 51 to WSW
Mon 0330 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Mon 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Tue 1100 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Tue 2130 WRMI 15770 to NE
Tue 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
Wed 1315.5 WRMI 9955 to SSE
Wed 2100 WBCQ 7490v to WSW
Wed 2330 WBCQ 9330v-CUSB to WSW
(Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5129.85, Oct 16 at 0043, WBCQ rock music is S8 but undermodulated.
3250, no signal tonight either. 7490.02 is in Mitch & Kathy show which doesn`t
interest me. But at 0122 recheck when Brother Scare should be on, dead air
instead, replaced at 0124 by some big band music; 0132 now it`s bluegrass, 0135
blues, 0136 ``It`s the Heart & Soul of American music, WHVW``, and next,
hoe-down. So losing BS, WBCQ has plugged into the feed from J. P. Ferraro`s 950
station in Hyde Park NY (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7730, Oct 16 at 0056, WRMI with choral hymns, three quick prayers in
a row, each with its own amen, evidently for some prayee with limited attention
span. Mumbled closing ref to website for some --- churchofchrist.com. Sked
shows it`s weekly `Worship in your Home`, 0059 ID and back to BS (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5050, UT Sun Oct 16 at 0046, WWRB is AWOL instead of the weekend
block of the few gospel huxter clients remaining after Dave`s rants. It was
also AWOL from 15240 earlier Sat instead of the Radio Munansi service allegedly
to Uganda. So some breakdown? Or no one on site to run it, flown away? (Glenn
Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7385, Oct 16 at 0052, gospel huxter detailing under what
circumstances Jews may be blessed, but this bigsig WHRI transmitter is really
ailing, imposing a continuous big squeal upon the audio, pitch slightly varying
but doesn`t seem to correlate with intentional modulation (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX
LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 7505.45v, Oct 16 at 0122, WRNO is S9+45 but gospel huxter is
off-mike, a sanxuary improperly audioed? (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 5085, Oct 16 at 0125, WTWW is S9+40 with Wurlitzer organ music, quite
an improvement over the usual rock or country fare, but some hum as non-Ted
announcer says it`s 1920s theatre organ music, closing with ``Nice Work If You
Can Get It``, as ``we have a nice new job here, broadcasting to you on WTWW``.
0128 segu? to closing tune and sign-off as ``check our schedule for the next
`Theater Organ in the Ozarks with Bob Heil```; OK, but where? Searching, this
is related:
http://heilsound.com/pro/blog/theatre-organ-favorites-you-call-this-a-hobby/
Presumably started at 0100 UT Sunday as WTWW was not on air before then, and
now as always accompanied by parasitic weak spurs on 5072.1 and 5097.9.
Fundamental is worth listening to in AMS mode on the NRD-545, weekly? 0129 ID
and tune with a Morse code beat spelling out ``ZQ`` rather than ``CQ`` for some
ham radio show. Heil is also a ham (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

** U S A. 1380, Oct 16 at 0142 UT, Spanish praise music is still dominant, so
KRCM Shenandoah TX must still be on 22 kW day power contrary to my hopes at
last log (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 6002 approx., Oct 16 at 0038, intermittent 2-way, sounds like
SSB, but no matter where I tune on LSB or USB, it doesn`t become readable.
Seems to be that minor security method PTP radiotelephone circuits used to
apply, reversing the audio frequency span on SSB, the name of which I cannot
recall (Glenn Hauser, OK, DX LISTENING DIGST)

UNIDENTIFIED. 13562.70, Oct 16 at 0118, S9+20 very rapid pulsing with steady
carrier. Maybe from a local ISM device, but never heard before (Glenn Hauser,
OK, DX LISTENING DIGEST)

DAY-BY-DAY ARCHIVE OF GLENN HAUSER`S LOG REPORTS:
Unedited, uncondensed, unchanged from original version, many of
them too complex, minutely researched, multi-frequency, opinionated,
inconsequential, off-topic, or lengthy for some log editors to
