-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 Hello Kevin, Expect is a server side utility and you should be able to install it with out too much trouble. Are you using SMIT, the admin utility for AIX? It should be your friend if you are not comfortable performing admin functions on a AIX box.

Are you seeing this in Cache or GTM? It looks like Cache displays. However, my Cache does not ask for parameters when I just press ENTER at the device prompt. I only get the Parameters prompt if I enter something at the Device prompt. Assuming you are seeing this on Cache, I have always used

The DEVICE: prompt is not the usual Cache prompt, it's lowercase as in Device: VA Kernel's %ZIS prompts for DEVICE: The Parameters: prompt and V format warning usually shows up only when you send output to a file not to your screen. You may want to check %G routine. Has it been modified to

I am using CACHE. I made a copy of my CACHE.DAT from a CACHE 4 and when I put it in CACHE 5.0 that is when I experienced this problem. There must be a setting in CACHE 5.0 that needs to be change because I am not having a problem in 4.0 -Original Message- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

That was my other problem. I was not able to locate my %G routine. When I did a d ^%ZIS, it worked okay. I was only having a problem with D ^%G. It was acting as if I am doing a D ^%RI when doing ^%G. I am sorry I can not duplicate it now because the laptop is on its way to Malaysia.

The freebie single user Cache does not include the source code for %G of %IS. On a standard install, the default install does not install the source code either. In your reply to Steve, you said it started with V5. Do you have v4 and v5 installed on the same PC? They can't run at the same time

I have not upgraded to 5.0 yet as the VA is still at 4.1.16. The VA supposedly is not going to 5.0 but rather will jump right to v5.1. I have played with the idea of converting my system to 5.0. But at the same time I had some concerns about developing in an environment which the VA is not

The .pdf file is a user's guide. Doesn't say how to install. The readme file that accompanies the install files has this to say: The Victory Programmer Environment consists of 2 files that are saved in MSM format, but that can be read by the MUMPS implementations mentioned below.
