This question has been asked by others on this board but nobody responded (so I will ask again). Does VistA provide any specific support for Opthalmology? Perhaps some nice templates?
Any help would be great.
Thanks,
Marc
There is a Visual Impairment Service
package but it is primarily for tracking eligibility issues. Theres nothing
specific to Ophthalmology.

Does VISTA (the VA system) have interface
facilities? Can I tell it to dump
one patient’s complete information to a sequential file? And can I give it such a file and it
loads it (one patient) into the database?
Are there subroutines that I can call to do this?
Charlie
I have an XML exporter that would dump out the contents of any given
file. But a patient's data may be stored of hundreds of files, so a
full reporting of all data for a patient may make for a difficult
template to setup.
Regarding import of similar data, that would be more difficult. What

Well, this might be the beginning of a new project
if some Opthalmic specialists might like to establish requirements and work with
some programmers we could start building such an interface.
