When I moved a HD from one EIDE controller to another on the same machine, I
got drive geometry errors and had to reformat on the new controller, which
fixed the problem for me.
Did they have a similar situation?

On some OEM computers like Compaq, Dell, HP, etc. The the heads are
set to 240 Heads per track instead of 255. This is a problem with
many clone computers. My advise is to remove the partition, reboot
