In reply to Nachum Zitter's comment, The issue is not being fair or unfair to the haredi community. I do believe that the majority of self publishers of all walks of life is unaware of the need and/or importance of legal deposit.
The real issue is to publicize and educate every member of the community about the importance of depositing 2 copies of each book at the respective national libraries for the sake of posterity. Librarians are best placed to be such educators. As for myself, whenever someone sends me a self-published book, I urge them to send copies to LC and JNUL.
