It was wonderful to see so many of my colleagues at the program on the Jews of
Turkey yesterday. My Turkish friend, Beyhan Trock reminded me that Passover
will be here before we know it and we spoke about the delicious Turkish
Passover recipes in her cookbook. Since many of us are cooking more at home
these days, you might want to change your standard menus and try something
Turkish!!!

"The Ottoman Turk and the Pretty Jewish Girl - Real Turkish Cooking" (Cupper
James Publishing)
Enjoy a delicious Sephardic Passover this year, without leaving your house.
This beautifully-photographed cookbook/memoire contains “old world”
Turkish/Sephardic family recipes which have been passed down from one
generation of cooks to the next in an unbroken chain since before the Jews of
Medieval Spain fled to the Ottoman Empire.
Beyhan Trock tells the incredible love story of her parents; the handsome
mustachioed Turk “Zeki” and the pretty Jewish girl, “Beti” who fell in love in
Istanbul in 1942. Within the context of their history, cultures and cuisine,
Trock shares 101 of the delicious recipes her parents cooked at home.
Turkish cooking has never been more personal. And the Sephardic Passover dishes
are easy-to-understand, thoroughly illustrated, and simply mouth-watering.
