I’m David, I’m a board member of Weave: The Journal of Library User Experience. We’re sending out a call for volunteers for our board. Weave’s volunteer editorial team actually work with authors to help them formulate ideas and help them through the writing process. As a board member, you'll be a part of a team that recognizes systemic inequities in academia—and in academic publishing specifically—and is committed to better advancing the work of Black and marginalized scholars. We are aware of the need to build a more racially diverse team, rethink traditional peer review, and dismantle established academic structures that support racial inequity. We are committed to building an editorial staff that reflects the diversity of the library community and our users and specifically encourage applications from the BIPOC community.
