POSITION SUMMARY
Classrooms Without Borders (CWB) seeks a detail oriented, motivated, dynamic, 
creative, and passionate individual for the role of Seminars Manager. This is 
temporarily a part-time position with the expectation to become full-time by 
June 2022. The Seminars Manager will be responsible for all Seminar related 
planning and coordination for CWB Travel Study Seminars, including but not 
limited to, administrative tasks, outreach and engagement, vendor relations, 
marketing, and communications. This position reports to the Executive Director 
and will work in conjunction with the Educational Programs and Outreach Manager 
as well as Operations Manager.
Classroom Without Borders opens minds and hearts through learning experiences 
that transform education and empower educators and students. CWB, through the 
study of complex issues of the modern world, help students and teachers examine 
the roots of antisemitism, racism, contemporary manifestations of hatred and 
extremism and the movements for social justice and human rights; combatting 
bigotry, injustice, and discrimination by educating individuals to promote 
universal human values of tolerance, altruism, courage, respect, and love for 
humanity.
The fundamental belief of CWB is that experiential learning with an open and 
honest dialogue among teachers and students stimulate an excitement for 
learning and a desire for each person to work towards creating a more just 
world. As we approach our work, we listen to the needs of local communities and 
adapt to the needs of the moment.
A program of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh, the central 
fundraising and community planning organization for the Pittsburgh Jewish 
community. Providing funding to local and overseas partner agencies, as well as 
independent programs that provide education, health, and human welfare services.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
●      During the first six months part-time shadowing and training with the 
Assistant Director on all matters of Seminar coordination and administration.
●      Support the Executive Director in realizing the educational vision for 
the Travel Study Seminar through negotiations with land operators, museums, and 
local scholars.
●      Create itineraries, program budgets, and anticipated program fees for 
each Seminar.
●      Responsible for booking trips in destinations all around the world, may 
include coordination with land operators, travel agencies, and local travel 
agents and tour guides.
●      Coordinate pre- and post-Seminar educational sessions
●      Facilitate coordination, scheduling, communications, and administrative 
tasks associated with Travel Study Seminars. Examples include: hotel 
reservations, catering orders, participant lists, etc.
●      Work with Educational Programs and Outreach Manager as well as CWB 
Scholars to develop Seminar curriculum and resource guides.
●      Oversee pre- and post-seminar surveys and evaluations.
●      Assist the Operations Manager with seminar reporting as needed for grant 
requests.

The ideal candidate will have demonstrated skills, knowledge, and experience in 
the following areas:

●      Ability to manage various projects and work in a fast-paced deadline

EDUCATION, TRAINING OR EXPERIENCE
●      Bachelor’s degree required.
●      Minimum 2 years prior administrative experience, experience in an 
educational work environment is preferred.
●      Competent in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Google Workspace.
●      Proficiency with email marketing platforms such as Mailchimp preferred.
●      Experience with Salesforce is a plus but not required.
●      Knowledge of Hebrew preferred.
●      Excellent communication and organizational skills with extraordinary 
attention to detail
●      Ability to work as part of a team with minimal supervision in a 
fast-paced environment, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple 
responsibilities.
●      State, FBI and PA Child protection clearances will be required.
●      Must hold a current Pennsylvania driver’s license and maintain 
throughout employment.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ WORKING CONDITIONS
The nature of work requires an ability to operate standard business office 
equipment. This role will have prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working 
on a computer. Also requires the ability to communicate and exchange 
information, collect, and prepare work documents. Due to the nature of this 
role a high level of confidentiality is required.  Work is performed in a 
general office environment, currently employees are working remotely due to 
COVID-19. The position requires availability for additional hours at various 
times throughout the year. Requires regular participation and attendance at 
sponsored events and meetings that may include evenings and weekends This 
position does not require heavy lifting over 15 pounds or standing for extended 
periods. Occasional Seminar Travel may be required.

COMPENSATION
Commensurate with experience, education, and previous related achievements. 
This position has the option of an independent contractor at 20 hours a week or 
as a salaried employee with a competitive benefits package position, both with 
opportunity for advancement. $20-$35 per hour.
